About Smoke Confidential
Smoke Confidential is the most secure text messaging client available. Designed from the ground up for secure text messaging, it ensures only you and the party on the other end can see the messages.
Smoke Confidential is free for up to five contacts. Support Smoke Confidential with a monthly subscription of $1.99 for 20 contacts, $4.99 for 50 contacts, or $9.99 for unlimited contacts.
Using real, symmetric encryption via a One Time Pad, Smoke Confidential sends data across the web in a way that is proven mathematically to be uncrackable. Moreover, the data is not simply encrypted, it is literally hidden in the network as it’s moved around in a way that, when combined with uncrackable encryption, makes a man in the middle attack practically impossible. Messages are actually double encrypted - once for the system and again for client to client communications. This means your communication is completely secret between two users.
The Smoke Confidential text messaging interface is also designed to make sure that sessions are accepted prior to messaging. This ensures that the person on the other end is in a suitable location to join the secure conversation. There is no caching or storing of messages. This means messages, by default, are confidential and kept between the two parties.
Smoke Confidential is a breakthrough text messaging app, ideal for Legal, Healthcare, Business, HR, Banking, Investors, Military and any group or individual requiring a confidential messaging platform.
Smoke Confidential is made possible by patented STOP technology (patent US8995652) . This is the first and only known technology to allow a real One Time Pad to be used across a network securely.
Smoke Confidential was formerly known as IC Secure Messaging, or IC Secure.
Message Confidentially. Message Confidently.
Internet communications just became secure...

Smoke and Mirrors The app sells a false sense of security. A true "one-time pad" requires a pre-shared secret sent over separate secure channel. Afterwards, an eavesdropper cannot decrypt the traffic, so simple XOR is optimal, as each bit of conversation consumes one bit of key. In contrast, using this app with a public wifi hotspot, the key material and subsequent conversation are exposed. (Even cellular monitoring captures all traffic.) More secure than this app are good public key systems with strong and long keys. OpenWhisper Systems protocol is end-to-end encrypted with a ratchet blocking playback of intercepted messages.
