About StepBOT Fitness

Make your steps count with STEPBOT!

StepBOT is a fitness game that uses your steps to raise and develop pet characters that you can interact with on the go. It makes use of the steps you collect during the day, using the pedometer sensors of your Android, Android Wear or fitness tracker devices, such as FitBit and Jawbone.

For Android Wear users, you can setup and manage your StepBOT character on your Android device and sync with your Android Wear device to take your StepBOT character on the go without your Android phone or tablet.

With these steps, your StepBOT can make the long journey across the 8-BIT United States of America! Help your StepBOT achieve that goal by making your steps count!

• Fully compatible with Android Wear smartwatches; data sychronization of StepBOT characters occurs automatically in the background between Android and Android Wear devices.

I want to like this, that's why I supported the kickstarter campaign. But when I try to connect my fitbit I get an error page.

Great concept, but poor execution. The app crashes frequently, notifications seem to appear multiple times for the same thing, and the interface feels clunky. The "tutorial" explains very little about the game, and I had to visit the kickstarter page to get a description of the different stats. Energy drains absurdly fast, such that your bot runs out of energy if left alone for even 5 minutes. Perhaps this is part of the game design, but it doesn't make for a great experience. I love the idea of this game, but I don't enjoy the app as it exists currently.

Crashes a lot, freezes up my smartwatch (moto 360 1st gen) and doesn't count my steps. I don't totally understand how to use it. Shouldn't it just be like a pedometer. I wanted the cat, it gave me the cat but then reset it when I opened it on my watch to the Android guy...

I have made multiple attempts to sign into my fitbit account and it won't load the sign in page. I've tried over wifi and cellular data- still isn't working. Will re-rate once bugs fixed

Doesn't work for Fitbit - You get a link to a website that's not there when trying to connect

I can't get it to connect to fitbit. I just get a long error message and no indication that it's being worked on. Is this app still supported? I love this idea but no one has followed through well on it yet. Please fix soon, thanks!

I can't figure out this game and there isn't a help feature I can find.

App had such potential, but after wrestling with the clunky ui and having my character reset twice(losing all progress), I just couldn't deal with it any more. Also, I'm not sure if it's my phone or this app but it's really frustrating when you go on a 4 mile run and you get back expecting lots of experience to give your bot and find the app only recorded 200 steps. Again that could be a fault of my phone but it seems that my moto 360 caught all of my steps, so I dunno what happened here
