Democracy Now!

Ehh this app is pretty darn buggy. A lot of times, the episodes don't even appear. It keeps freezing and I have to close it and sometimes even restart my phone for it to download episodes. And I definitely can't have any other apps open when I'm using it. When it does work though, it's legit. Democracy Now is a great show!

I love DN! and am excited to have the app installed in my android phone. However, one caveat does exist, the Podcast option does not function. You must play the video in order to hear the broadcast. This feature ceased functioning several months ago.

This app is boring and it sells advertising! Isn't Democracy Now nonprofit? How is advertising related to their charitable purpose? Oh, this is a third-party app. SHAME ON DEMOCRACY NOW FOR NOT KEEPING UP WITH THE TECHNOLOGICAL CURVE! Where's the real Democracy Now app? Maybe this third-party app developer should work more closely with Democracy Now to develop a legitimate app.

Edit: seems to be working much smoother now. (Notifications won't go away. Close the program and still there. Kill the app, still there. Have to uninstall and reinstall to fix. Otherwise I use this everyday. Would be 3 stars, maybe 4 if fixed.

I have been listening to democracy now for 10 years. I can't even tell you how many times I have been more informed on issues than my brother who has a PHD in poliyical sciences. He watches MSNBC for his news...

If it were unauthorized, Google would take it down, and when will DN make its own. It's simply a shortcut RSS aggregator, right? You could install an actual RSS feeder, correct? The app designer isn't making a profit.

Vídeo crashes, podcast vs video selection often doesn't work. App is very basic and doesn't give close to the amount of information as website

I like the app a lot, but after using it I often need to force close it otherwise it'll stay open forever. It is also buggy, but podcast streaming still works fine even if I keep getting a message saying that the app has stopped. There is no good way to skip the streaming audio without resetting the entire podcast. The ad placement is not good. If this app can be purchased, I'd gladly buy it but first please fix these problems.

Very good newsfeed. You hear more detail and another POV other than typical media secondary to its nonprofit status. Only complaint is I'm having trouble with app staying current and have to go on website to retrieve mist current newsfeed. Seems to stop esp on Friday and can wait an entire week before update

It's slow to start play, buttons aren't responsive. Try to rewind and it starts completely over. And still has to buffer and lag! Try to fast forward a bit and it goes right to the end. Try to replay and it does nothing. Lags majorly or just plain freezes up and stops completely. I like that it notifies me as soon as a new episode is ready but I'm uninstalling this app and just gonna use the stitcher app, even though the episodes on there are usually a day behind.

This app has too many flaws to list. This stupid app has almost caused me to crash while driving multiple times. I have written DN! and offered a $2k donation if they would just start posting their daily episodes on Google Music using the new podcast functionality. This would make their top-class media more readily available to all. Please do it!

everytime when I answer she phone I have to listen to person who's calling and DN at the sametime. Also when I need to quit I have to do it by force! is crazy.... I'm looking at similar complaints, can anyone hear us?

Democracy Now is an AWESOME PROGRAM - AN INVALUABLE PILLAR OF THE AMERICAN CULTURAL FIRMAMENT. THIS APP IS GARBAGE THOUGH... TOTALLY UNWORTHY OF ANY ASSOCIATION WITH THIS ORGANIZATION.

App doesn't recognize that it's already playing audio and freezes. Doesn't activate from notification bar. Unable to pause. Great news show, stupid app.

Hard to use and requires forced closing often. It would be so nice to be able to move forward and back but it causes the app to freeze and close down

This app needs to be force quit every time (nexus 5x) it doesn't respond to requests from other apps to change the volume or play/pause requests from a Bluetooth connected device (my car). The interface is confusing as to how to play audio vs video. It should be considered an early beta version. I didn't give it 1 star only because the content it plays is excellent. I will have to find another way to listen to this show on my phone.

Buggy.. Democracy now! Needs to come out with their own app. This will do.. Enjoy listening to them on my way home.

I only recently learned that this app is illegally using copyrighted content to make money for someone completely unaffiliated with Democracy Now. Shame! Not only is that criminal, it's unarguably unethical. Also, the app is a real piece of crap anyways. It's buggy, ineffective, uses a lot of memory for no good reason. So don't download it.

Award winning journalist & author, Amy Goodman,is the host of the show, w/great co-hosts & guests.Tells the truth, which is hard to find in the 24/7 "news" cycle, that has taken over, since Reagan changed the FCC rule saying news had to be factual, so opinions & lies can be called news. Gee, thanks Ronnie...NO!! They use to call it an "Op Ed". Now, that's about all we have, calling it news. Democracy Now! is my favorite REAL news show (& T.Hartmann!)

I was excited to have a convenient way to get the Democracy Now! podcast but had trouble getting back to where had left off the last time. This means that I would have to listen from the beginning if I want to hear the remainder of the program. It's rare that I have an hour to devote to just listening. I know too that this is probably a complex issue, but it is important. Love the program though! Best news source!

This app doesn't look as good as a lot of other apps but the content is the most important part of democracy now. They don't have a lot of money to produce an extremely high quality app and they deserve the support! That said, I think the biggest improvement would be chromecast support, bring that please!

Crashes when you open it from the recently used apps list, crashes when you press the notification. Rewinding and fast forwarding loses your progress. Ad placement is evil, right as I go to press play, an ad replaces it.

I was listening to Alex Jones and found it not be reporting the news in a way that is needed to be reported. This source is a news worthy app. Thank you.

The forward reverse and stop functions reset the podcast back to the beginning every time on a Note 3. Won't close without a force stop. I'll have to stick to pc based listening.
