Trivia Scavenger Hunt for Android
Users of this app will need to solve the trivia questions, go to the location and use the App to see if they found it (using GPS), once they have found the location the app will give them more information about the location (set by the creator of the scavenger hunt) and award a badge for that location. Once the user has found all the locations and collected all the badges the creator of the scavenger hunt is notified via email (optional) and can see who has completed the hunt.
This is a great way to get students or users familiar with an area or learn more about the area. It is free to create a scavenger hunt and the app is free to download by the users.
To use this app you will need a Scavenger Hunt ID (your group leader or teacher should provide this). You will only need to enter this once, unless you reset the app. The goal of this app is to figure out the trivia question and go to the place being referenced. Once you think you have found the answer you will choose ‘Did I Find It?’ from the Question page, the app will use your device’s GPS and see if you have found it. If you successfully find it you will be awarded the badge. Once you collect all the badges you will be able to submit your completion report to your group leader or teacher using the email client on the device (if set by the creator of the scavenger hunt).
You will need to have a Scavenger Hunt ID to use this app. This is given to you by the creator of the Scavenger Hunt, if you would like to create a Scavenger Hunt for your group you can go to http://davidbradshaw.us/software/scavengerhunt/. From there you can use the Creation Tool to mark the answers and input the questions and solution information.
This application and the online service is free to use and download and can be used by any type of group.
