Podcatcher for Android
Love this app. Already works really well and has so much potential. Highly recommended.
Love the chromecast ability.
It's a good substitution for iTunes. The only flaw I found so far was that it can't fetch RSS feeds from podbean, since their URLs end in a /. Wish they would fix it, since I now use it often for casual podcast listening
Where is the promised chromecast? Only reason I installed it.
It works well if you have gigs of free space. If you don't have much left (I have 700mb) it starts deleting things before you get a chance to listen to them. And there is no way to stop it. There is a "you don't have much space, download anyway? " alert but this doesn't stop it deleting other casts you are still listening to. I know how much space I have, stop deleting things! !
I found this first, got restless, tried several other podcast players, and came back. I love this app. It makes my commute tolerable! When I encountered a problem after upgrading to Marshmallow, the developer is extremely responsive.
hideous.
Could you have a widget appear on the lockscreen while playing?
I use it to manage a couple podcasts and it works great.
Needs a better way to identify podcasts that you have already listened to.
Really like the straightforward interface. A 2x speed option would make my rating 5 stars.
I am a huge fan of this app.
Simple and easy
No RSS auth
You can't search for podcasts, you have to know the feed url. Upon installing is auto downloads what it wants to (news casts)
Crashes a lot. Hangs, and even hangs the whole phone at times. Pauses :10 into each playback. No search?! Often thinks it should resume whenever a Bluetooth device connects, which is a pain. It doesn't really ever exit and stays running in the background after you quit. Samsung S3. Update: finally just had it. Seven minutes between launching the app and getting it to play. Seriously?
Made a backup using the feed export and now can't import.
Great app does exactly what is says and I have no problems with it. I r8 8/8 m8 it is gr8 so don't h8.

If this app added a way to sort playback oldest first, it would be perfect, and I would give it the full 5 stars.
Works perfectly on my Acer Liquid E2. Only problem is the playback order, newest to oldest, which causes some podcasts (series of small episodes) to play in reverse order. Would be a very good idea to add a configuration option for playback order!

crucified phone cpu & battery, took 'phone OUT of flight mode. made 'phone unusable. no other app ever gave me this much grief. X'd it.
I have found this podcatching app to work very well, and downloads consistently, though it needs either the possibility to re-arrange the items in the "current" list to one's own liking, or support playlists that would be more customisable than the default current list. As is, I tend to listen instead via another music player linked to the podcatcher and then just manually mark casts as listened to afterwards. Certainly if you just listen to a few podcasts or don't care what order they come in it is recommended.
Very good
I'm discovering podcasts thanks to this app. I like the way once I've added a feed its very easy to find/play/pause the podcasts that update in the background. I think the graphics could be a bit less spartan but maybe that's just the minimalist look the developer is going for.
A little enigmatic at first but I get it now. Nice work.
If you mentioned ads in description, I would just skip your app. 1 star for wasting my time.
Really solid programme even at alpha will great ui and no bloat
Useless if I can't search for podcasts.
Nice.
Ful
Does exactly what I need it to do
I am devouring my favorite podcasts with this app, happily. But as others have pointed out, playback order is an issue. It plays the most recent podcast first, which might make sense if you were completely caught up on that particular program. But as it stands, I'm getting multi part podcasts in reverse order. Not the worst thing in the world. The simplicity of this app is a strength. Could use improvement, but not too much.
It does subscribe to and download from rss feeds. Where it falls short is playback. It attempts to do playback itself and does so poorly, extremely limited audio player especially if you like long podcasts that you don't finish in one sitting. The downloaded podcasts all go into one folder and are named poorly. If they were organized by feeds into directories and with good file names I would be happy, and would play the downloads with a good audio book player such as MortPlayer. Unfortunately this is not the case
Reliable. Easy to use. I'd be lost without it. My favourite app. I use it everyday.

Good at catching podcasts but could use better playback controls

great app. my only complaint is the inability to transfer your account from one phone to another. each time i get a new phone i have to find and add my podcast feeds again. please add some kind of user account so we can save feeds between devices
