Zapper! Sell stuff for cash for Android
Of the similar companies that do this, had a better return on my collection with Zapper. The app desperately needs the camera scanner feature sorting out though as its impossible to scan anything so every barcode has to be entered by hand.
Camera does not focus. Would give it zero if I could. What a load of rubbish. How many negative reviews before you fix it.
After multiple attempts at downloading where the app simply refused to download I've finally got it. Now the scanner refuses to focus on any barcode so it's unusable. Very poor. Any solutions? Am running a Samsung S7 with Android 7.0.
Glad you can try it out first before registering. Barcode scanner is completely out of focus and won't scan anything. Useless
Load of junk, camera using this app on my S7 Edge will not focus, making scanning barcodes impossible. All the competitor scanner apps work fine.
Keeps crashing & causing my camera to stop working!!. Have to restart my phone constantly for app to work.
The main reason for using an app like this is for the bar code scanning so you don't need to type in the numbers. The camera fails to focus using my S7 so making it useless! I did type in 2 bar codes and the films were recognised, but I am not going to waste my time typing when other apps scan actually works. Don't bother installing this.
Have sold a large number of dvd ,s and was very impressed by the whole process. The cheques did take a few weeks to arrive but received frequent emails to keep you updated on progress. Will use them again.
Forewarning: you won't make a mint on this app, but that wasn't my main reason for using it - it was primarily to get rid of books that took up space and that I was unlikely to read (again). The database is pretty fussy in terms of what items are / are not accepted, and reaching the £10 minimum can be a bit of a battle. But it's a stable, easy to use app and getting paid does not pose a problem.
Potential is there for the app to be great. Let down by a camera which isn't focusing using my s7 edge. This requires manual input of each Barcode! Far too time consuming so will use another service.
Don't waste the 2 minutes it takes to install and test!
They might give good prices but don't hold your breath for payment. Been waiting 8 weeks now and all they are interested in is charging to reissue cheque. They must have the worst local post office in the country as they seem to loose the post all the time.
Shame because zapper had the best price for most of my stuff. Unusable at the moment though, can't scan barcodes (galaxy s6 edge)
Had a whole bunch of extra books, a while later it all came to £39. I might have made triple that selling them one by one on eBay but happy to have someone else manage that and take my cut. Yes the camera times out and its a pain, please fix.
Not sure why they call it zapper.....the bar code scanner won't zap. It's just out of focus all the time so you have to ente all bar codes manually which is inconvenient. Three other similar companies I tried and the scanner works fine on them so that defines which company I will use. I gave the app two stars as the few I checked manually were reasonable prices but webuybooks will be the company I use.
Nice user interface and fairly straight forward to use. No issues losing data unlike other apps. Scanning is a bit of a pig ... compared to some other apps that scan. Had to type a lot of codes in manually.
No problem scanning but offers were derisory. I'd rather give the items to the charity shop.
It didn't scan it did do anything tried few time but IT DOES NOT WORK ....AT ALL
Other companies give much better prices such as the one named after a black and white bird that collects shiny things.
It does on lots of other apps on my phone. Makes it useless. Galaxy s6.
Scanned over 400 dvds/blu rays with very little problems. Had the occasional issue getting the scanner to focus but other than that hassle free.
Easy enough to use. Double tap back button to exit not working. And now app screens blank when I want to pack and send. .25p for popular generic dvds which is .5p more than music magpie. But music magpie sometimes offer .30p + more for dvds that Zapper give the standard. 25p to. I split my order between the two. E.g multi region Sunday too far away and a man's gotta do...offered £2.50 each on MM and only standard .25p on Z. 5 stars when app works the way it should.
When the app works its great and easy to use but have found that the scan function either doesnt load or takes a while to load if you go to the review page so either need to enter the barcode manually or going back to the first page before going to scan again (which works most of the time, just more of an annoyance) however saves your scanned items and can work between website or app reasonably well (although the website accepted one book but the app didn't). Not too keen on only being paid by cheque.
Its unable to focus the camera on the s5, its a simple fix their end. Prices are pretty low, can't exit the app without a forced close.
First item I try blu ray wolf of wall Street so daft and useless in my view. Not accepting. Wouldn't focus on scanner so had to enter manually. Deleting app now sticking with Magpie.
I tried the Magpie app first, but it kept crashing. This one just forged ahead full speed and did exactly what I wanted it to do.
Supposed to save time but couldn't even scan a barcode when plenty of other apps can... waste of a download.
The whole process is easy from start to finish. Offers are slightly better than alternative buyers and I love the fact I can scan on my phone. Only issue is that app doesn't stop phone from locking after so many seconds, after scanning 2/3 items, phone locks and app crashes so I have to load it again. Only way to stop is to change phone settings or remember to keep touching screen. An alternative sellers app has permissions to stop the automatic time out. Other than this it's great.
This must be what being long sighted is like. The app will not focus on barcodes. I know it's not my phone as it works fine with music magpie and others!
I think the only downside was not alot of cash offered.
Scanner doesn't work and they don't accept all cd's
Scanned no problems got better price than magpie. Those other comments about the scanner doesn't work must have a problem with your phone
Easy to use. I also used Two other apps to get the best price for each item.
Total crap! The scanner is totally useless so unless you want to type in hundreds on numbers manually, then this is not for you. A good example of a company that will most likely be out of business before you get your payment.
No payment received and was told DVDs I sent were counterfeit which isn't true.
All I get is sorry we currently don't require this item. Didn't matter how popular or not the author was. Complete waste of time
The app is easy to use, In comparison to other sites the offers were good. My only criticism is that it takes a while to get your money and it's paid by cheque, not bank transfer. But they are trustworthy and would use them again. I didn't actually read the reviews until now and I'm surprised how many people had problems with the app. I didn't experience any of these issues.
Shite
It offerd me £0.25p for an xbox one and the same for an xbox 360 who would sell for that pricd lmao

Used zapper to sell a whole bundle of stuff, i had to contact zapper over a posting issue but they were very quick to reply and sort it. It did take them a few weeks to process my items after receiving them but i did get my cheque and would recommend them. Just take note that if you send in any XBox games abd they have bonus codes on them and they have been activated the game will be rejected.
