About CommonsVotes

CommonsVotes shows you how MPs have voted in divisions (votes) in the House of Commons. Data is provided approximately 20 minutes after the result is announced in the Chamber.

You can browse, search and view the results of individual votes, as well as the voting record of any Member of the House of Commons. You can also add a Member to your "favourites" to easily track the divisions they vote in.

This app is developed and maintained by the Parliamentary Digital Service. Please submit any feedback via @digiminster.

The app does exactly what it says it will. However one major improvement would either be an overview of what each vote represents instead of just a title or a link that would take you somewhere this has more details. Other than that I can't see any issues.

S70%
by S####:

To UK Parliament add link to vote bill, motion, proposals please or at least give a summary of the bill that is in plain English. Google play sort out your stupid questions too.

N70%
by N####:

Two features that are needed to get to 5 star; one is a list of MPs who did not vote (understand it's hard to tell who actually abstained) and the other is some way to identify the party of the tellers. Either just in brackets after their name or to include them in the list as if voting in the direction for which they were teller.

P70%
by P####:

No bill summary so you have no idea what you are looking at and it has bugs, most annoying bug is when viewing a bill, navigate back to the list and all the voting stats change to incorrect numbers. Such a shame as this app has a lot of potential but it's been totally wasted

R70%
by R####:

So disappointed with commonsVotes. Was it developed on win3.1 or something.

R70%
by R####:

This would be better if it showed us to abstentions. I want to know who the rebels are in my party to help weed them out.

R70%
by R####:

On each post, please add a link to the bill or motion so we can refer back to it and read the whole article. A link back to the .gov website would do.

M70%
by M####:

A good app with easy to find and up to date voting records, but it would be good to have explanations about each vote rather than just the title.

R70%
by R####:

Very limited. Needs to include the text or a link to what is being voted on.

L70%
by L####:

Doesn't show info on abstention. This must be included for transparency.

R70%
by R####:

Good app, well designed and simple to use.

R70%
by R####:

Does exactly what I need it to do

R70%
by R####:

Good transparency idea

Only buffers on my s4 mini

Y70%
by Y####:

App just buffers and won't load

Y70%
by Y####:

Good idea but app doesn't work just keeps on buffering.

A70%
by A####:

It works now after issues with initial launch but it's just a data dump with no context. This is a really good idea executed in a really poor way. Very disappointing.

Y70%
by Y####:

1 title of vote gives little clue as to subject etc. 2 couldn't get out of it. None of the normal buttons available - home, back, open apps. Neither is the header row. Had to restart m/c to get back control. Finally found you have to swipe down to see them. Latest version has corrected 2. Now can we have more details of the motion/bill/amendment

Y70%
by Y####:

This app makes it a lot easier to see who voted for and against something in parliament but without background to the bill or motion you have no way of finding out what those votes actually mean. A short paragraph explaining what they are voting on, and the two options, would be extremely helpful. Otherwise it's just a data dump without context which people can't understand.

A70%
by A####:

OK, it says what it is on the tin, but information it provides has no substance.

Y70%
by Y####:

The app doesn't work. When launched it is just buffering all the time.

Y70%
by Y####:

What a waste of data and memory. But it only cost 79 billion.

N70%
by N####:

As others have said, just buffers constantly on my android tablet.

B70%
by B####:

Just buffers and doesn't open so seems like a complete waste of time

Y70%
by Y####:

Next gen democracy! Transparency at last, can't wait to spy on my constituent MP :D

K70%
by K####:

It would be useful if it linked to the description of what the vote was about. Does it show abstentions?

P70%
by P####:

Does as advertised. Works fine on my phone, not sure what certain reviewers were going on about.
