About UK Grid Reference Widget

Provides a set of display widgets that will show the user's position as a UK Grid Reference as used on OS Maps. The widgets will display references as a 6, 8 or 10 figure grid reference.
The application implements a complex Geoid Transformation algorithm, which performs a very accurate transformation of co-ordinates from the ETRS89 system (which is used by GPS) to the OSGB36(TM) system (which is used on OS maps in the UK). The application uses a tailored polynomial interpolation of the reference data tables, and this enables transformations to be calculated to within less than 1m accuracy for the majority of UK co-ordinates.
The application also applies the transformation to the GPS Altitude, and converts it into a grid Height so that the user has an accurate height reading in the same co-ordinate space as used on the map (there can be up to 100m discrepancy between GPS and grid height depending upon location, which could cause problems to anyone attempting to use GPS altitude as a navigation aid in conjunction with a map).

Works fine but I can't seem to upgrade

Does not work - do not buy. Paid £3.49 for upgrade & "still waiting for GPS".On an HTC One X.

Works well giving OS grid ref, latitude and longitude, even altitude. BUT, how exactly do you justify accessing my contact list and call logs? ALL you need is my location, just like the other apps. I'm deleting this one. Avoid.

Very nice widget that actually works! Unlike some of the other gps apps on Google play Would like the grid ref to give more info. Only gave 6 figures

Works OK, but why do you need to read my call logs and contacts to provide a grid reference?

Does not work with Samsung S3. "Waiting for GPS".

Responding to the query about privacy concerns, the app requests the READ_CONTACTS permission so that it can use the phone contacts to pick a destination when exporting a location via email. It does nothing more than that. The read call log permission seems to have been bundled with the read contacts permission by Google - the app has no interest at all in the call log and doesn't actually go anywhere near it.
