About Tracks2Miles

Tracks2Miles is a full feature Dailymile client that allows you to take workouts recorded with the My Tracks application and uploads them to dailymile.com

****WATCH THE VIDEO****
You will need to ensure that sharing of My Tracks data is enabled. This can be done by ticking the "Allow access" box under the "Sharing" preference in My Tracks Settings page.

To upload a workout choose the "Save to SD card" option in My Tracks and select the GPX format, once done click the "Share" button. Tracks2Miles should either open or appear as an option in the list of apps.

Current Features:
- Export routes from My Tracks, use the "Share with friends..." menu option to share the current track.
- Post workouts without using My Tracks, Tracks2Miles can be launched directly to upload a workout without uploading a new track e.g. treadmill seasons.
- Existing route reuse, start Tracks2Miles from the launcher and hit the "Use existing route" button and you can use routes already uploaded to dailymile.

Known issues:
- Reused routes have zero length, some routes returned by dailymile are shown to have zero length so the distance is not filled in when using them. I have reported this to dailymile.
- If "No Access" is still reported after enabling sharing in My Tracks try force closing My Tracks or rebooting the phone.

It's a really simple app that does not have a lot going for it. The main purpose of it is it provides a way to manually submit your runs. It doesn't provide a GPS to track it and auto submit them for you. Also, it just looks bad. Might as well go online with your browser.

I used to love the app, but after latest update, czech characters (č, š, ž etc.) are broken in posts downloaded from DM. Please fix.

I use mytracks all the time & tracks to miles makes it really easy for me to add them to dailymile.

Love love love this app! Very easy to use and transfers all your info to DailyMile at the touch of a button. Developer is also super responsive.

FB connect worked at DailyMile. The sharing worked as detailed and within a few minutes my run was uploaded. [ Looks like the default is to have the route viewable by anyone at DailyMile. I'd like to be able to set that as 'friends only' if you can do that in the API. ]

I've enjoyed using the app for 3 months. I'm glad to see more of the gps data used to automatically fill in spaces when uploading a workout.

Doesn't work for me. DM login happens, but app doesn't fill in any values, have to enter them manually. Moto milestone, custom 2.2 rom.

This app has potential. When I try to import, no information is added. I still have to manually input everything. Hope the next update fixes this.

Facebook connect is broken. HTC hero. Wish this app worked was really looking forward to using it.

At one level this is a very simple application, all it does is allow you to upload your GPS traces from MyTracks to DailyMile. However, I have found myself definitely exercising more since I installed this application because I wanted to look good to my friends. The fact that it is based upon real GPS logs means I can't lye about the length of the run or the time I took.

after installing this application today, exchange server mails automatically goes to my friends, i guess this might be a spam so i immediatley removed it, i am not very sure because it might be a spam application

This app with totally up my alley but once I installed it I was confused by the interface. Only once I returned to the Google Play Store description did I see the instructions on how to use it. After that it was obvious that it works well. It could use a little UI polish, and I wish the app would post the My Tracks URL in the DailyMile comments, but otherwise it's a solid offering.

I have tried a few tracking apps, but the feature I wanted most was posting to my DailyMile feed. It took some working with, and as mentioned in a review from FEB 24, 2013, you should see the instructions in the the description. Since then I have logged hundreds of miles on foot and bike with this app. It has stalled twice while running, although one time it was due to other apps running. I notice that the battery drain with this app is not as great as with some other training apps, which is good because 1) my device is a battery hog and 2) I am a long distance runner. I have had it track me for over 3 hours with fair battery use. It had allowed me to merge maps onto Google and has other features which I don't use. Over all, this app has been great.

Works well, within the limitations of the Daily Mile API. Developer is responsive. A little more visual polish on the stream screen would make it even better. Good job, Ben.

A quite messy app. However it does the promised, uploads onto dailymile. Not veryneat tho

Even though I have sharing enabled, it doesn't get the data from My Tracks, which is the entire point. Otherwise, a very basic, straightforward app.

Takes a few steps to use, but the best thing I've found for updating daily mile.
