TravelAI Catch! Demo

TravelAI Catch! Demo app is a demonstration of how effortless it is to capture transport usage anywhere in the UK and EU using TravelAI's automated travel-detection technology.

This demonstration version of the app will be most useful for city officials and citizens and transport professionals that would like to see Catch! developed in their city. That said, anyone can download the demo app for free.

Catch! is a project to develop a next generation journey planner that adapts to travel conditions in real time to deliver the most accurate and stress-free routing. It works by analysing the movements of its community of users, building an anonymised dataset that is fed back into the journey planner. The data will also be offered to city planners and transport operators so they can make our transport systems work better and more efficiently for all of us.

This demo version doesn't have the Catch! journey planner, but does include the crowd sourcing travel detection.

>> What permissions does the app require on my phone and why?
Location: The app needs GPS and cell tower data to detect your travel.
System tools: This allows the app run in the background without interrupting you when you are using your phone.
Network communication: Needed to initiate the app when you first register, and then to backup data to the cloud.
Storage: Required to store your data on the phone or memory card.

>> Do I need to keep GPS on?
You must enable GPS on your phone to allow the app to detect your travel.

>> Will the app drain my battery?
The app uses between 5-15% of your battery. While we’ve made every effort to keep battery use to a minimum, please remember to charge your phone every night.
