Translink mLink for Android
Its great until it not... its fine when its working but when it crashes you have to pay for another ticket at the station anyway. Paid for my 3 day ticket on the app at £24 odd ended up paying £8.60 return today for a ticket anyway might as well just get your ticket at the station.
As previous reviewers have remarked. The app is incredibly slow to open. Also when you close the app to use another function on your device you have to go through the same procedure to open it. Not that the procedure is long, just the waiting time.
Terrible app and service. The app offers ticket prices that are much higher than I pay daily on my commute. And only available for goldline service. App is slow and poorly designed.
This app is useful but very temperamental. Quits regularly and you active ticket doesn't stay open as you constantly have to reload it while the train conductor is suspiciously hanging around not believing you have purchased one.
THIS Is STILL THE WORST APP EVER. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME DOWNLOADING IT. I DIDN'T THINK THE WORST APP EVER COULD GET WORSE BUT YOU MANAGED IT! DOESN'T MATTER WHAT WE SAY HERE; TRANSLINK DON'T EVEN CARE!
This app has improved a lot over time. I use it almost every day. Is stable and getting quicker (no more awkward delays with the conductor while you access the ticket).
Want Translink to keep working on this app, please, it would be so useful and used more if it were more reliable and didn't crash every 2/3 times you try to use it. So much potential
Slowest and most frustrating app ever. want to use it, but it doesn't allow you to get anywhere to register a payment card.
Crashes all the time and now won't open to show purchased tickets.
Keeps force closing and failing to connect to server. Pish
This app keeps failing to open,
Very slow, never works when I need it.
I use the smartlink card. Would be useful if that could be added to th app?
It would be good if you could buy park and ride tickets...
Useful idea, poor in application
It works... just. You need to open the app a good few minutes before the conductor wants to see your ticket. This is worst when your internet connection is poor, which is all the time on Translink WiFi. The UI could be great, but it's average. If I have an active ticket, and I open this app, I obviously want to see it. I shouldn't have to click anything. I shouldn't have to wait. There should be a fast way to view your ticket at any time, regardless of internet connection!
Far too slow to start up. I'm considering switching back to the paper ticket as the feedback here is clearly not being taken on board.
It's not quick to open, especially when the guard is standing over you, but it has got better over time. What i don't understand is why the latest update (Dec '16) wants access to my contacts and other settings?
I bought a ticket this morning with this app. Now the app won't open so I cant show my purchased ticket. I hope I won't be asked to buy another ticket to get home!
Cannot link YLink Card to account, displays error message....
Just terrible on all fronts. Broken, buggy and unreliable. Shame on the developer.
Ever heard of caching?
I have had no problems at all I think more people should use it
Ticket inspections usually happens in areas with no internet connection and the stupid app almost refuses to open. Just a blank screen then the conductor stands there looking at you as if you have two heads. The app well and truly lives up to translinks standards which are truly terrible
Admittedly it is convenient to buy your ticket through an app and not need loose change but this isn't fit for purpose. The app constantly freezes and at times doesn't open. Pretty useless, especially when conductors hover over you waiting to see the ticket. I usually have to show the receipt because the app is so temperamental.
Can be very slow at times opening and the available fare options could be increased. A 5 day flexi ticket would be a good addition.
Please take contacting the server off the bloody splash screen, you're supposed to be able to show the app to the driver/conductor promptly, waiting around for the splash screen to go away is infuriating, especially in an area with no network available.
The app is slow to start, slow in operation and it is asking for more permissions than it should need. Unfortunately it's the only way to buy etickets so there is little incentive to improve it.
Doesn't load when you need it to, meaning missed trains and having to buy extra tickets. Avoid like the plague!
50p cheaper using this app than what a day ticket would normally cost, also great for when you have no change
This app is excellent no more worrying abt change for bus so handy for me and the drivers
Why do I need the internet to load my active ticket? Why are there so many steps to actually purchase a ticket? Why am I not taken directly to the active ticket when I open the app. Focus on simplifying the use cases and speeding everything up.
Changed my phone a few days after buying a new monthly ticket and now I cannot access it or transfer it to new phone.
Yes it's slow to load but have it open just before you enter the station or in your open apps list while you're on the train and that issue is eliminated....the app makes my daily commute a lot simpler.
Handy to use, especislly new Metro tickets
No YLink support
The most recent version gives a ticket download notification every time you open your ticket which is irritating.
Does the job and I like how Paypal is now accepted. However it takes forever to load the current ticket - not good when conductors want to see my screen only to see a loading page - just what processing are you doing given the ticket is offline. Also useless for students as ylink doesn't work

Would give this minus stars if i could. Great idea terrible app. Always crashes as you get to the barrier and ended up missing train this evening and waiting 40 minutes for the next one. Pity there isnt another option.
