About Transcend Meditation Timer
Transcend Timer is a simple and elegant meditation timer which can automatically silence your device while you meditate and restore volume settings when finished whilst ensuring that the display doesn't sleep in the meanwhile.
This app does not tell you how to meditate, and so is designed for meditators who are already established in their practice, whether this be Vipassana, Transcendental Meditation (TM) or any other meditation technique.
I use the app for one hour Vipassana meditations, with the optional gong enabled to tell me when the hour is up. Transcendental Meditation (TM) recommend not using an ending alarm, so you would not enable the gong for Transcendental Meditation (TM).

- Choice of display themes, a dark ‘night’ display, a light ‘day’ display and an auto setting that will automatically choose between dark and light settings

I like it, but it would be better if the gong alarm was controlled with the system alarm volume instead of the media volume controller. Or at least an option to choose either one.

The gong will not work no matter what I do so I spend my 20 min TM time more focused on if I'm going over my time (I have a demanding schedule and only have 20 mins).

Nice look, but the sound isn't working - I got no chime after 15 minutes after I made that setting. To confirm, I changed to 1 minute and watched the clock hand go round and waited for the chime to sound, but it didn't. I have an HTC One.

I really thought I'd like this one until I realized that the timer pauses when you lock the screen. Because of that, it only works with the screen on, which unnecessarily drains the battery while you meditate.

The best meditation timer I can fond. I especially appreciate the new color and dimming options on the screen as other apps have bright invasive screens that can't be adjusted. Is there a way to adjust the gong volume without changing my phone volume ?

The best app for TM I've come across. Especially like the optional gong and that if you choose to use it, the sound can be set very low. Like the simplicity ( I know how to meditate! Don't need someone to tell me!) Would definitely recommend it to experienced TM meditators to support their practice occasionally
