About Abc Session Viewer

Here's a little app that I put together so that I could display the tunes from Paul Hardy's 2013 Session Tunebook (ABC version). Initially I wanted to be able to transpose the chords to match different capo positions on my guitar and it has grown from there.

Recommended minimum screen size 1280x720 pixels.

Note that for the Android Accordian, notes below middle C are silent. So for tunes with these low notes. you might want to select a different melody instrument.

I use this app in earnest every other Monday at the Greenshoots session at the Black Horse in Melbourn. You are welcome to come along - the next session is at 8pm on 23 February 2015.

There is a brief user manual for an earlier version at http://abc.sg8.co.uk.

This is an excellent app for those into folk session music. I am always recommending it. However, the latest version seems to lack the option to make your own session and playlists - this is a pity, as I used the feature for convenient lists of tunes I know and tunes I'm learning, or for tunes in d and tunes in g. Please restore the feature!

Great app, very good in recognizing tunes. Unfortunately it keeps crashing at startup lately. ????

I could never get it to open my own books.

Great app, but items display too small because of too many panes on one screen. Could be vastly improved by displaying less per screen and then having user switch screens. App would look just great on a desktop, but so tiny on a phone or tablet. Yes, I know you can make the song list larger (by taking up more room away from the other pane - or should I say pain). Even the play button is too small for my Galaxy S5. Still, it is very feature rich. Love the tab and capo features and transposition.

This is a great app conceptually. I love what it's meant to do, and it works quite well for that. However, on my galaxy s5, Everything is so tiny I can barely read it, and the fact that I can drag around the whole pane for the song list is quite distracting and hard to use. I would love to rate this higher because I've been searching for a good general purpose abc song viewer for a long time, but it's just really hard to use on this phone.

Great app, and loaded all my abc files too. One minor issue on my pad - the dot on dotted notes is quite tiny and misplaced, making it easy to miss. Could this be fixed?

The over 400 tunes are good. However, I like to be able to use my own ABC files also.

Excellent on a tablet (Hannspree 13.3) but for use on phones it would be better if the stuff above the staff view window could be hidden, allowing more of the screen to be used for the tune. Currently 25-30% of the screen is used for controls. //// It would be good to be able to use Paul's tunebook as the basis but to be able to add/delete other tunes. Is there any way to edit the library or to point at a different one?

Can the UI be improved so it can be used on small screen - phone.

This is going to be very useful, but can you transpose the melody and the playback too? Also, allow the user to change the tempo?

"Unfortunately" won't run
