Did you pay somebody to design and develop this and the iOS app? If so I'd seriously consider asking for a refund. Shocking array of bugs and poor UX. How this got through QA and into store I have no idea!

Changed my review as it seemed ok... that was until I tried to actually watch it. Firstly you can't cast a downloaded rental, but when I tried to stream it to my chromecast I get error=2? It's not my chromecast as I'm now happily watching the film by renting it again but from Google play movies instead... Also now says I have only 24hrs to watch it and I only clicked play 5 mins ago, you should get 48hrs!? Why release something not fit for purpose and charge people for it?

R70%
by R####:

Like so many other people, getting a casting error =2. Certainly not my mobile device, TV or chrome cast as I use it all the time with barely an issue. Sorry I signed up, and will now lose my free promotional rental in 48 hours. Highly unlikely to try again. Stick to selling food if you can't be bothered to put out a decent entertainment product.....

Paid for episode. Didn't appear in my library. Notice told me that all episodes are deleted when you log out....ridiculous to pay every time you want to watch something. I paid for it I should be able to watch it more than once

Read reviews. It said it wont chrome cast on download but will on stream. I streamed it and it still have error 2. Rubbish. You did the free offer to encourage people. I think you have put lots of people off. Very bad app.

Slowest app I've ever tried to use. Absolute waste of time don't even bother downloading. If you can't do it right sainsburys, why waste customers time!!

F70%
by F####:

Unable to watch purchased film via Chromecast or Xbox. Chromecast connection dies when starting film, Xbox service offline on a Saturday night. Sainsbury's need to stick to what they do best and sell me potatoes, I'll get my films from people who know what they're doing in future....

Bought a movie but can't install the app so very disappointed. Update: managed to install. Downloaded movie and now it is unable to play. Very frustrated.....what a waste of money. Avoid at all costs!!!

R70%
by R####:

Well I thought this was a good idea. Got a card from the checkout. Now every movie I want it need another account! Uv ! I suggest people look else where I have money I can't spend in an account which is pointless. Can you get a refund?

R70%
by R####:

Just downloaded a rental and been informed that it cannot be played via chromecast (streaming without download doesn't work either - error code = 2, so stop advising people to do this.) Added to the large amount of titles available in SD only makes this a dreadfully poor app. On the plus side (+1star) their customer services is fantastic. Refund given immediately.

Don't bother. I downloaded The Martian for a long train ride. Paused it to answer a text 1hr in & the film deleted itself! Totally frustrating. Before Sainsburys ask what I did wrong here's an answer... Nothing. Regularly use Netflix, BBC iPlayer, GooglePlay, All4, Sky app etc. Never a single problem. So now instead of watching The Martian I'm writing this review. Dear me it's a terrible app. Avoid.

Like most, error after entering code on android app. Also when I bought a movie on the Web browser and went to view it on the android app it doesn't put the film in your library unless you delete the app and reinstall it. Customer service is clueless at times also. How long before you fix the problem where if you buy a movie the only way to get it onto the app is to unistall app then reinstall it again! I told customer service about this a long time ago so you are aware!

We get a great offer to download a film. We buy it I press to download and it says it is unavailable. So I check its not my phone. Everything else works. Do not download. Saisnburys= rip off

L70%

Some good value films available and the ability to collect nectar points is a bonus. Sadly no ability to stream with Chromecast. If it had this feature I would personally use this app more.

Sainsburys seem to be the weakest link of the main uv providers in terms of ultraviolet titles. Problem is the UK ultraviolet is a mess. Flixster is overall the best if your able to get flixster. Blinkbox in UV second best but lacks lionsgate titles. Sainsburys most titles I seen that are UV else where and sainsburys have are not on their site but i also find their website when going to my account is slow and fails half the time to correctly sync my films and tv shows and misses some or stops syncing.

K70%

Choice is tiny. To disguise this they seem to have resorted to listing the same film more than once to make the "selection" seem a little less embarrassing at first glance. And bearing in mind that even of the films available, many are to buy but not to rent, choice becomes miniscule. It seems crazy to launch a store with virtually no content - would they do this on the high street? There seems to be no categorisation of film into e.g. horror, arthouse, etc - just "movies" (hardly unexpected!) And "to rent". That's it.

R70%
by R####:

Rented a film, but it doesn't allowing streaming from my tablet to a Chromecast. Then tried it on my PC using IE, Chrome and Firefox and they all errored. Lastly tried it on my phone and it told me they were no licences left. Contacted customer services, equally rubbish.

Error code 1, error code 2 or error code 515. Not really good enough when you take the money up front is it? I see from the feedback JS have been aware of this since 14/3/16 and haven't fixed it or put a note in their app to warn you of the issue. Uninstalled and I'll stick to Google and Wuaki.

V70%
by V####:

Kept getting error 2 when trying to use Chromecast as others have said and Sainsbury's acknowledged and promised to fix many months ago, so it's poor that's it's not fixed or properly tested in the first place. Also no subtitles at all which is crucial to some people. Uninstalled.

I have a number of ultraviolet films (9 films in total). Randomly, the app only shows 6 films and I cannot see any link between the omitted films. The films that are shown are a mix of SD and HD ultraviolet, but the app only downloads in SD. The app doesn't give any option as to where to save the film (I want downloads of films to the SD card please!)

Rented four films and every time I try and play them I get some message saying I can't play them. Really disappointed kids

Rented Ant-Man and things went belly up. First, I got the oft-repeated "Chromecast error =2" screen. I was actually able to get around that by switching casting on and off and generally fiddling around. So, after that I could cast Ant-man as normal. However, subsequent requests to play the film - well within the 48 hour window - were met with "There's an issue with title's licence" which I'm miffed about actually. Sainsburys, get in touch as I want a refund / explanation. Thanks.

Purchased a film but it wouldn't stream. Contacted Sainsbury who said that the problem was with my Chrome Cast. I have never had a problem with any other streaming service so I don't believe that for a second.

L70%

Movie I rented did not appear in library the following evening. Had to log out and log back in multiple times before it appeared. Regularly got "-2" error when trying to cast film to TV. App often crashed on phone, but movie still played so I had no control. I eventually gave up and downloaded so I could watch on my commute, it is now saying it can't be played as it is either playing on another device or I've used up my licences (neither are true). I have 16 hours left to play the final 30 min. Utter crap.

Q70%

Poor selection, constant buffering issues and the Roku app is unusable. Support just give me credit when I complain instead of fixing anything. Bit pointless as I can barely use the service!

P70%

Xbox one app shows wrong films and this app doesn let me play my films because i have used all of my licences despite deactivating the consoles in account sdttings.

R70%

Not managed to watch a whole film yet, constant errors whilst casting.

R70%
by R####:

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it stops in the middle of a streamed cast with 'error 2'. No way to get a refund if you can't play a rental. Customer support terrible. I'd go so far as to say it's a rip-off.

If I could give this App zero Stars I would !! Downloaded App in order to make use of promo voucher, purchased film, then it states that I can't watch it on my Android device !! No wonder Sainsbury's are giving free credit towards a purchase !! Thanks to their one device policy I can't watch the film, how awesome is that... NOT !! Glad I only used the voucher & not paid anything towards it. Got a free mp3 Album with another voucher & that's a ridiculous zip file which is a terrible lengthy process !!

R70%

Main problem is most of my Ultraviolet movies don't show up I'm my library, so no real point to it

R70%

Casts to TV without any problems. As Sainsbury's is a British company, it would be nice to see a wider range of older classic British films, but not a major problem.

So if you own a Xbox or PlayStation this type of service is available Or there is netflix and amazon i don't think the world needs another on demand service offering the same content. The ui is ok but it wont knock your socks off. Sorry Sainsbury but i feel your trying to profit of other company's ideas i would go back to the drawing board and think off adding something unique to make this service stand out.

O70%
by O####:

Limited library on offer which should expand. The most disappointing aspect is the lack of Chromecast which is included with Blinkbox and Google Play. PS Chromecast has still not been added despite promises. Has a specific date been given yet? The streaming is terrible and often stops completely.
