The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance trust, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity providing free life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the counties of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance app aims to help anyone who needs to know their current location when contacting the emergency services. The app map shows your current location and provides an OSGB (Ordnance Survey Grid Reference) locating you and the patient to the emergency services. This location finder will work even if a mobile phone does not have signal.

Yes but... The signal for SOS is 3 dots 3 dashes and 3 dots. The SOS flashlight shows just 3 dots and 3 dashes. Get it right guys - not difficult...

Not all functions work. SOS flash light does not work at all. Please fix so i can be sure to be 100% able to use this app as it could save a life one day.

Given that the sole purpose of this app is to provide an accurate location in an emergency, I wasn't very impressed that the first time I tried it, the location it provided was some 35 miles from where I was actually located. Launched Google maps and my correct location is shown in seconds. Needs a bit more work I think!

It's really useful and I feel comforted to know that it's there even if I'm not using it. Amazing because before this app i didn't know what the SOS code is and now i don't need to because its there for me!!!

Had cause to use it this evening when helping a downed biker and his pillion. Accurate location. Saved a lot of faff with the ambulance call taker!
