Brilliant! Only wish it was comparable with Google Assistant/Home. When you lose data signal the app restarts playback as soon as you are back online. You are not bombarded with ads. When via car Bluetooth you can use steering wheel controls to skip though my chosen favourite stations. When I get out the car and get back in the radio starts again automatically. If I switch to a different input the app will automatically pause playback to save data and auto restarts when you go back to Bluetooth source. Top radio app for sure.

I listen to the radio all day every day at work. Most evenings. And some weekends. I've tried pretty much every single android radio app out there. And this is by far my favorite. Simple. Clever. Quick. Can add favourites for quick access. No intrusive annoying ads. Ability to set an alarm. So I can finally wake up to The Chris Moyles show again. Brilliant app. Love it. One of the best android apps out there.

Found this app thanks to the bbc introduction of sign in for radio!! Appalling in my eyes and I will not be taking part of the personal information trade game.. Luckily this had a much better user friendly interface and is so far flawless for what I need from it!

M70%
by M####:

It was my favourite radio app to use with chromecast, untill you've changed the cast background to show pictures. Please change the cast background to black as it was before, or at least give an option to switch it off. I had to change to different app, because displaying still images for longer time is no good for any tv.

9/2016 and two yrs on I still love this app. Knocks spots off dab digital radio and no need to use headfones as aeriel either.

M70%
by M####:

It looks good, but I haven't yet managed to open a single station without the app crashing. Emailed the developers twice and sent a number of crash reports, but have had no response.

M70%
by M####:

Galaxy S7 Edge. Has almost every UK station listed except my own local radio Mansfield 103.2 . Needs option to buffer for longer if listener needs it. Also I am a delivery driver in and out of van every few minutes, so needs option to stay connected instead of having to restart each time I get back in van which is a pain. Otherwise good app much better than Tune In which is rubbish.

M70%
by M####:

Best radio app around. Shame kids radio mixed with comedy & drama category as it makes the list a bit long to scroll through but, frankly, that's the only downside that pops out at me.

U70%
by U####:

Ditched the BBC app as it had innappropriate permissions & very buggy. This app is a thing of joy. No stuttering, just works. Top job developers, change management & testers. (If anyone thinks i am being overly kind, look at some of my other reviews!!) EDIT, WHY THE NEW PERMISSIONS TO VIEW WIFI CONNECTIONS.....NOT UPDATING. ANY MORE INNAPPROPRIATE CONDITIONS AND THIS APP WILL GO TO THE SAME PLACE AS THE BBC APP.

M70%
by M####:

Can be very slow to load, even on WiFi. In Android auto sometimes fails to load list of stations. Once it's going good, it works well, although it would be useful to buffer for longer as an option.

M70%
by M####:

Used to be brilliant, but now it switches itself off whenever I try to listen to a station. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. Same thing is happening. Such a shame as it really was a great app.

M70%
by M####:

Very good sound but switches off when the screen closes. Seems to be OK in Car Mode. Any ideas how to fix this very annoying feature?.

M70%
by M####:

Stable and lots of stations but car mode is rubbish. No option to always load in car mode and space for only 4 stations. Why is so much space given to the station name (which doesn't auto fit long names) and play /stop button?

M70%
by M####:

Great little app, has all the UK based radio stations I listen to. I've actually uninstall the specific radio apps. Alarm wake up works well.

W70%
by W####:

Good overall but always loses my favourite stations from the list, even when I select one of them and the heart is red to say it's a favourite. Still an empty list. Shame.

M70%
by M####:

Probably the best free radio app out there but recent updates seem to make it stay active all day even when you're not using it. You close it on the lock screen but back it comes. Also appears as one of the top battery draining apps. Even askng android to put it to sleep doesn't stop it! Never used to behave like this

M70%
by M####:

Picks up out of area radio stations along with some local ones. No FM antenna required, just a data connection. Easy to use. Problems fixed quickly, what is there not to love? 5 stars from me.

M70%
by M####:

Only spoiled by not being able to find THE ARROW. A great adult rock station that used to be available on Sky. However can't have everything!

M70%
by M####:

Free UK radio until you go abroad. Then none of the BBC channels will work. What a rotten organisation the Beeb is becoming. Funded through taxation but firewalling all their material like a private business with profits to protect. Can't have it both ways. Its time to cut the BBC loose and let it go head to head with Netflix and Amazon Prime. All previous programming of an educational nature should be immediately placed in the public domain for free access, anywhere. Afterall, it belongs to the UK taxpayer.

M70%
by M####:

Keeps starting on its own for no apparent reason. Not good when in a meeting

M70%
by M####:

Pointless, needs internet so why would you use this ahead apps that cover internet stations and stations worldwide. Uninstalled very quickly

N70%
by N####:

Nice solid app, only discovered because Amazon Echo cant find Magic UK on tune in so started using radio player and now have the app on my android devices. All the station I want and user friendly interface, nice app.

M70%
by M####:

Good internet radio listening app. Would have given it five stars except that some badly behaved stations lock onto a web page and you have to kill the app to change stations

M70%
by M####:

One of the best apps I've had the pleasure of using. Easy-to-use; every feature I'd hoped for (and more) already implemented; well organised; zero problems. Nothing more to say but "thank you".

M70%
by M####:

Some stations open a browser window, however once finished listening, you cannot get back out of the browser window, even after closing it, as when trying to go back onto the radio player it keeps reopening the last browser window. I had to go into settings to force stop and clear cache before I could get back onto the radio apps listings. Is a bit annoying but otherwise a great app.

M70%
by M####:

I drove from London to Aberdeen and listened to the radio via the app in the car. Only had one drop out and was pleased with the sound quality and large choice of stations.

M70%
by M####:

Doesn't work. Won't play any streams. Web streams work as does Tunein. I sent an email to the developer asking for help and got no reply.

G70%
by G####:

Does what is says on the tin. Well. Great for getting radio over data connection. Buffering really helps avoid dead spots on mobile connections also.

Y70%
by Y####:

I only wanted a wake up alarm but the realisation I don't have to wear headphones anymore or suffer adverts and I am listening more and more! I suppose it wouldn't be possible for a quick playback feature would it?

M70%
by M####:

Really very good. Would like to see material design as this is a little scruffy for me but that's also being picky. I use the app daily.

M70%
by M####:

Radio Player is the best app I can find, I always use it in the car, just purchase yourself a 3.5mm Jack lead to plug in one end on the headphone socket of your smartphone and the other end on the aux-in of your car stereo & you're good to go, the best feature is the car mode, once you've set your favourites then it's easy to change stations you normally listen to, highly recommended, If you want, purchase a car wi-fi so you don't run out of data on your smartphone.

Didn't know that half of these radio stations existed until I got this app. I love listening to Cheesy FM.

K70%
by K####:

Love this app, use it every single day. The thing I love most is not having to use headphones, its just like a regular radio. Highly recommended. Thanks for a great app :)

M70%
by M####:

Great app, nice and stable and reliable, good choice of stations available, also has a wake up alarm with your favourite radio station which I use a lot, Also it doesn't keep bombarding you with ads and videos like the GOLD RADIO app, Highly recommended

This is a great radio app on Moto G5 plus so far very easy to use very useful best radio app there is forget BBC . keep up the great work excellent. just hope more live premiership football games and championship football games could be added and more easy to search bar for would be perfect

W70%
by W####:

I have tried numerous radio apps for phone and tablet and none of them come close to this one, it is a keeper. No intrusive adds other than the stations adds you are listening to, easy favorites selection and super clear quality on WiFi. Just get it.

G70%
by G####:

After installing the radio app's separately which are away on my memory and the BBC radio app asking to inappropriately ask for permission to use there app which I didn't want to do this did the job, all my favourite stations in one app, only negative is it crashes from time to time, but overall a good app

Q70%
by Q####:

It works in Britain, but not when away. The only reason I cannot give this a high mark, is that once started I cannot stop it without turning off the mobile.

W70%
by W####:

Coming from listening to FM radio, I find DAB/online radio to be the best thing since sliced bread. Absolute Radio is my favourite station on this app.

L70%
by L####:

Seems to like shutting down randomly as of late, stations have trouble loading even with full 4g signal. Slowly getting more annoying.
