About O2 Wifi

O2 Wifi. Fast, easy, reliable. And free.
For everyone. No matter who your mobile or broadband contract’s with.

You can get O2 Wifi on your smartphone, tablet or laptop in thousands of wifi-enabled locations including McDonald’s, Costa, Pizza Hut, Debenhams, TONI&GUY, Strada, Subway, All-Bar-One and many more - even on the streets and other public places.

All you need to do is register using the free O2 Wifi app. Once you’re on, you’re on. No username. No password. You’ll connect automatically whenever you’re in a Hotspot. Easy.

You can check your emails, upload photos on Facebook or watch those funny cat videos on YouTube. It’s up to ten times faster than 3G. And because it doesn’t eat into your mobile data allowance, it could save you money.

A few things the O2 Wifi app can help you do.

• Register for O2 Wifi, wherever you are in the UK (not just in a Hotspot).
• Find and get directions to a Hotspot, even when you’re offline.
• Manage your settings (and any other wifi devices you have) on O2 Wifi.
• Get answers to questions you might have.

Not a good app. Cant seem to be able to register my device through it at all.

R70%
by R####:

I'm sat in one of the so called hotspots, signal is (allegedly) very strong , 65mbs, and I can't even keep connected.....what's the point of telling you were a hotspots is if you can connect.....all the app does is show you were the hotspots are but they don't work when you get there !@@!

Q70%
by Q####:

Trying to register new phone on this app and failing. Been trying for days. Very poor.

T70%
by T####:

I see why it's available, it's more to do with connecting free to the Virgin media extra wifi that is currently on the London underground, u need this app to be able to connect with them. Otherwise it's an OK app.

R70%
by R####:

Didn't work with my one plus 2

R70%
by R####:

But I and using Android 6 Marshmallow by Cyanomod instead of the stock Oneplus Oxygen Android 5.1.1 version.

C70%
by C####:

O2 wifi service is awful can never connect to any of their hotspots

M70%
by M####:

Opens unasked on phone all the time. Never use it. Very annoying.

R70%
by R####:

Worked on my oneplus one before but not working for my oneplus 3 now

R70%
by R####:

This app fails in every way, so dose the support team. They have had long enough to fix this. Yet spend money on untrained staff. Incompetent at they job. Forgetting all about customer service! As they are all spotty teenagers here, you would of thought they would be good with apps. Surprisingly they are only good at excuses, and passing you on!!!!!!

E70%
by E####:

Absolute rubbish!! I used to be able to use my HTC m8one with no issues on the underground. I upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy edge s7 and I am not able to do this. I've never had to download anything to log on. This is a complete waste of data and space on my phone. Deleting immediately!!!!

R70%
by R####:

The most useless app ever. Having changed devices, I apparently needed to register my new device on O2 wifi to use the underground wifi. So far so good, however, the app has NO OPTION to add devices. Great job O2!

R70%
by R####:

Doesn't work on my Nexus 5x running Android Nougat. As far as I can see this is just map of hotspots, it doesn't do anything else so uninstalling.

Z70%
by Z####:

Keep getting the welcome to O2 wi-fi on my Sony Xperia but it doesn't connect or let me use the Internet. Home page is there, it says welcome back but that's as far as I can get. Used to work but not now. Fine recommending using O2 wifi when you get the data warning text but no good if it doesn't work!!!

R70%
by R####:

Wifi on Underground doesn't work for me because it's registered to a different number. O2 tells me to download this app to delete my account. This app has no feature for deleting accounts.

C70%
by C####:

Can't use wifi underground and none of the advisors on chat can troubleshoot the app. It shows hot-spot locations and when I arrive at the location it disappears from the app completely.

R70%
by R####:

Having same problem as other owners, app won't load. Used to work fine on my previous phone (Huawei G620).

R70%
by R####:

Seems stuck in the past with an obselete email address which it will not let me update. But ive changed to "its ok" 3 star as it has helped at Mcdonalds being more stable

R70%
by R####:

Although I find signal and my phone "connects" I get no Internet whatsoever, and the "sign in" part just keeps refreshing when I try using the Web browser. I spoke to an O2 guru who just told me to uninstall and reinstall this app to fix it, and guess what? It didn't.

Y70%
by Y####:

Terrible quality app. No excuse for this, it's not like Telefonica are short of cash to do this properly.

R70%
by R####:

Told to register via the app to use o2 WiFi and can't register my device, only see a list of those already registered. What's the point?

R70%
by R####:

Loaded the app while sitting in Costa, Queens Road, Leicester, an O2 hotspot. App won't connect but tells me to go to my nearest O2 hotspot by walking 170yds south to...Costa, Queens Road, Leicester! Fortunately I am a BT broadband customer so I can use their free Wi-Fi almost anywhere, including Costa, Queens Road, Leicester! (Nexus 5x, latest version of Android with location services enabled)

R70%
by R####:

O2 customer services are incompetent liars. 3 times in a row I've been given false information. The salesperson lied through their teeth about the insurance details..

R70%
by R####:

Finds hotspots ok, but doesn't automatically connect :-( keeps forgetting user/password info.

M70%
by M####:

It's just a map showing WiFi hot-spots, you still need to log into the providers website. I was in McDonald's with no 4G because my WiFi was waiting for me to log in to the McDonald's network.

Y70%
by Y####:

Pathetic app - unable to register to use wi-fi Underground and O2 provide no instructions anywhere.

D70%
by D####:

Brilliant App from O2 yet again. Helps me find WiFi whenever I need it and also can manage my account with ease.

H70%
by H####:

Can't even get registered asks me to create a password then keeps telling me there's an error occurred

F70%
by F####:

App will not even load on the OnePlus 2 handset. Zero stars. Please fix this o2 devs.

R70%
by R####:

It uses a lot of data to find where the free WiFi is which makes no sense and half the time it can't recognise where I am...I have deleted it...

R70%
by R####:

Still. Totally Useless if you are on GiffGaff which uses O2. Burnt Tree Carvery zero connect always.

X70%
by X####:

Refuses to work when you change your device. Can't even log on now. Terrible.

J70%
by J####:

Using Galaxy A5-6: Although it claims to be able to, there's no actual way to register a new device on the app, so no way to use it.

R70%
by R####:

To call this an app is an insult. Unusable UI, terrible design. You can delete a device but not add a new one.

S70%
by S####:

Last few times have used doesn't work now please fix same trouble not working in drive through and also restaurant etc only certain places

R70%
by R####:

Can't connect to any WiFi near me using this app. So annoying
