For just the sports news, Cheers but no thanks
Since we all pay the same fee, why shouldn't we all get to enjoy what we paid for?
Unlike the full paper Times app this only works when connected to the Internet rather than downloading content first and then letting you read it offline
Getting the same msg about video not bring "authorized" when me and my phone are both in the UK. Tapping on the tennis gave me white screen and the football webchats are invisible. Optimised for phones? Don't make me laugh.
Reports that I need to be connected to the Internet, which I am.
Can't log in.... Useless
If playing videos doesn't work, you have to uninstall and re-install the app. Clearly this app corrupts its own data overtime and requires a full reset.
Does a decent job for highlights - as I'm a cricket fan that's mostly wickets and end of session highlights. Can take a moment to find the video you want, even if you click on the android notification it just takes you to the general cricket page not that particular video.
Videos jump, skip and often freeze. Please fix
Even reading off line.
Doesn't look like the screenshots. I previously used the iPad app which was good for watching video highlights. This looks like the phone version of the Times app. I uninstalled and re-installed and now it's how I expected.
which I have no interest in. If you are a 'sport' app how about covering a wide range? Oh yes you do a spot of rugby and golf. What about athletics, hockey (3rd most watched sport at London 2012), basketball etc? How about giving up options about what comes in our stream? Or choosing which sports to be notified about?
Excellent stuff
Excellent app very impressive.
Good App
Okay if you like football rugby and cricket, otherwise very bad at making it easy to find other sports information. Uninstalling.
Great App
High data use. Laggy. Needs a refresh function or ability to remove stories that don't interest, since 'Top Stories' are often out of date or not chronologically listed. Only good for cricket nuts (frequent notifications will make you appear busy/popular, when in fact you're a bit of an anorak).
Would love to properly review this but as i can't install it due to coding error during installation i can't...can anyone help?
Never plays any of the videos.
27 of the same notification and no detailed horse racing
The latest version force closes immediately on Nexus 5
No, honestly, I don't so 7 alerts in a few minutes is the reason I'm uninstalling and as I subscribe that will probably get cancelled too. No point subscribing then not being able to have the apps because of the constant alerts. Not impressed.
App has deteriorated rapidly over the last couple of weeks. Up to four links to same article on the same main page! Also, no notifications for other sportsthan cricket and notifications not configurable. "Times Cricket" would be a more appropriate name.
I downloaded this app in order to get the world cup updates. All I get is cricket video updates every few minutes it's so annoying! No option to deselect cricket video updates. I'll be uninstalling this app. Update 15/8 reinstalled app for start of premiership. Still wish you had more options to select video alerts and option to personalise the menu column would be good. Times please listen!!!
Maintains the high standard of Times reporting.Too much cricket? It is the cricket season and, apart from the little matter of the goings-on in Brazil(Germany to win) there is little else happening
Good for access to video highlights and for keeping up to date with sporting news. But, and it is a big but, push notifications are infuriatingly frequent and repetitive to the point that this app is on the verge of being deleted.
The notifications seem to turn themselves back on with every update. And there are about ten cricket videos and therefore updates every day.
... Why does it constantly tell me they're are cricket videos. I don't care, can we get an option to just select the sports we want?
This app will push more notifications than the neediest friend you have. The content may be ok but it's not worth the flood you will recieve.
If you give me the ability to select the sports I like to read about (rugby), rather than all updates, it would be great. More likely to uninstall if I get constant updates on... lets pick Cricket, as that is all I have had since installing.

Finally, video clips function actually works - but rate these English wickets are falling they might come in too quickly. Seriously, video updates were too frequent. Now, top story is stuck on Holland opening match. Bug?
Need to be able to control the notifications. I am uninstalling until it's sorted.
Turn off notifications if you don't like seeing the cricket videos. Great app.
Why would the times want admit they are responsible for this. Compete waste of time!!!
Poor

You say there's a special section for the world cup. Where?? Just downloaded latest version. Live feeds are 1 or 2 weeks old. Why is The Times so far behind Guardian in its Apps? Long way to go.

I'm a big fan of the newspapers but the Apps just don't work
