RealCalc Plus for Android
Easily the best calculator I have. I've given up my HP50g and trusty TI85 and use this exclusively. Advanced calculators aren't that useful because anything past what this app can do is done on my computer anyway. It has a comfortable UI and works in RPN, which sold me. Customizable conversions are easily worth the purchase price.
This is one of the first apps I ever paid actual money for. Years ago... This is also one if the first few apps installed after upgrading my phone or tablet. This was also the very first app that made me want family sharing before it was a "thing". Its perfectly awesome and I've never ran into a bug. Buy it...now!
I got my first calculator over 40 years ago. This is by far the best. Not as many functions as some but a very well chosen set. Configurable where it matters, you can't reskin it (it looks good as is) but you can do things like adjusting the keyboard feedback. One of the very few paid for apps that are great value for money.
The best calc on Android. I've been using the free version for a while and didn't really need the extra functions of the Plus version, but fair's fair - this is a great piece of work and I'm happy to pay the developer for it. There is no need to own a scientific calculator if you have this app.
Looks and almost feels like the real thing. I've been using the free version and found it became me go-to calculator. And while I am sure I will find the extra features handy, the main reason I bought it is they didn't bombard me with ads (which played a huge role in me using and liking it). So ultimately, it is worth the cost. Well done!
Outstanding ... I bought an HP-35 when they were first introduced in the early 70's. It was so early, it made the 2.02 log error. As an engineer, I used it heavily in school and for many years thereafter. ... This calculator is a much more powerful tool. It can be switched from RPN to a traditional algebraic calculator and there are a host of other features like conversions. Try it free, then buy the plus version. I don't think that there is a better calculation app available.
I would give 5 stars if they add a "reveal" function or ticker tape with a list of values entered. When entering a series of numbers, there is no way of reviewing the values entered. Also basic statistical functions should be added: mean, median, mode, standard deviation, variance, standard error
Almost perfect. With the Galaxy S8, hitting the decimal point will often activate the pop-up home button and shoot out to the home screen. Maybe needs some padding at the bottom? I think it's a Samsung created problem, but it's only your app affected!
This is a great calculator ap. When I was in college I bought one of the 1st Hp35. Beat the heck out of slide rules, and sold me on RPN. For all you old TI users this app can go either way. Just having this app on my old Note 3 is enough to keep it arround as a calculator.
Great app',but the licensing SUCKS! As soon as I disable Google Play & Store to save resources, the app' whines about the license key (eating power).... which I paid for. Unacceptable. Fix this please.
Pretty ok, long abandoned and missing a few features. The basic functionality is great, and there's enough customizability to make it work for you. Unfortunately it's missing some features I personally need (can conver FROM binary to other bases but not TO binary, for instance) and because the app's been abandoned for more than a year, the only option is to look for another app.
If you use a calculator a lot for complex calculations, it pays to get used to RPN and this is the best I've found on Android. Supports copy and paste too. This one is linked on the first home page with the clock camera and flashlight.
A great calculator app, clear and intuitive to use. Very happy to purchase the 'plus' version. Nice idea to include three RPN mode types - absolutely love those. Have already recommended this app to a friend. Q: are you planning to develop the 'entry buffer' RPN version to have more stack manipulation such as with, say, the HP 50g?
I used the free version for a couple of years and decided to upgrade to the paid version because I believe it's only fair to compensate the developers for such a good app. It's a fast, easy, well designed and accurate calculator that leaves nothing to wish from a separate, dedicated device. If only all apps did their work the way this one does...
After I bought it, I found this app hasn't been updated since 2015. Really disappointed. I was hoping that it would support Nougat multi window completely. But how can it? When it hasn't been updated for so long. I should have checked earlier.
The best calculator app! Functional, versatile, packed with options and flexibility. Using either RPN or the 'other' mode; trig, calc, fraction/DMS conversion & manipulation; etc. etc. This app is great! Issue: The only issue I currently have is not all the text in 'settings' is visible. Some of the text is white, blue, grey, but some seems black. Against the black back ground, it's unreadable. This may be an issue with my phone, as opposed to the app. {Lollipop, Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G906S}
I have been using the free version of this app for a long time and I like it so much that I decided to go pro. The constant & conversion customisation is awesome. BUT can we have an option to change back to the non-pro key layout? I couldn't care less about degree/minute/second conversion and fraction but often use the x^2 button. I would like to be able to access it without the shift key. Another feature request: stat mode to calculate sum, squared sum, stdev and the like on a set of entered values.
It's surprising how hard it is to find a really good scientific calculator. This one is great. Only quibbles: I want a 1/x button on the widget rather than memory, and the widget doesn't appear at all on my Asus tablet (fine on my huawei phone). Otherwise it's perfect.
One feature I'd like to see is formula editing. Type the formula as you would have done on a piece of paper, with option to go back to the formula via screen tapping or arrow buttons. Then only after whole formula has been typed and you hit = the result should display and stil be able to go back and edit formula if needed. Can include history of previous formulas typed as well.
The UI. The dev should implement Material Design principles and an optional flat UI style while retaining ALL the existing functionality and layout. Aside from that, it can't be beat. The new menu button is great, too. No other scientific calculator on Android even comes close.
Am not an advanced or regular user of a calculator but I have a background using Casio fx82 etc, three decades back, and this one just works like a charm, just like those used to. Can't ask for anything more, both from features and UI (love the LCD look!)
Upgraded from the nag version to the Plus version even the reminder is so infrequent. Easily paid for itself the very first time you use it, and you will be supporting a great software. What a great joy to teach my 12 years old daughter to calculate the Powerball odds using RPN.
I mailed the developer about a bug converting between binary bases (e.g. HEX->BIN, BIN->OCT, etc.): HEX to BIN wasn't working. Latest update fixed this, but the binary functions are very limited, switching bases to BIN mode only works to 2047, 7FFh, so having to download a programmer's calculator for arbitrary-length binary conversions. Will get 5 stars if the dev can implement full binary mode conversions.
Been using free version for long enough. Always been happy with it, so felt it was time I made a donation in the form of buying pro. Visual design is perfect. One suggestion I'd make is to consider adding an 'off' button (to exit). Might be taking skeuomorphism a bit far, however every time I finish using it, I always press (the power off sequence from my old casio) before remembering it's an app, not a physical device. I realise keys are a bit crowded (esp in RPN), but possible?
Update 2016/04: I find myself wishing HP had made an RPN calculator with an interface this good. Still my go to calc on my phone! ... 5 stars not enough! Well thought out design, intuitive and more useful than the majority of calculator apps on Play. The RPN layout is really well done. I wish there were a hardware calculator with this layout!
Been using the free version for about 5 years over several devices without a single glitch, hiccup, crash or issue. Smooth, consist experience. Paid because I should have long ago for such an amazing calculator. Simple as that.
I am without a doubt one of those people who can't stand an answer that is in the ball park. I like precise answers, especially when it comes to numbers and this Realcalc plus is the way to get that . You can use a wide variety of formats, there is a very good conversion program which allows you to figure out anything from weight to ohm calculations or..... Look at this program yourself and I believe you will find this to be the last caculator you'll need to download.
The price of 50-INR which is less than a dollar was too hard to resist. I had used their free app from four years prior, and now I just decided to jump in for the paid version goodies. The app still is less than 1 MB which is so great.
On every phone I had, this is my #1 calculator I've used/installed I don't know why it took me so long to upgrade, but I finally did. It's gorgeous and useful.
Realcalc is a great app and fully deserves a 5 star rating. I purchased the paid for version because I felt guilty how much I was using this app and hadn't given anything back to the developer.
I don't understand why is it so difficult to make a good calculator app. I have tried quite many and there is only one I have found good - RealCalc. After using it for a few years I have paid for the full version.
Gotta have my RPN. There are quite a few options, but this is the best combo of feel, simplicity, and power. Use it all the time at work - sadly never bother taking the HP48 out any more.
I'm an engineer. 30 years ago I'd have an HP-15 with all the RPN stuff I preferred to use. RealCalc for everyday use is the best thing out there. And, unlike my antiquated HP calculator, I don't need to go back to my desk to get it.
Requires: history of output, delete should delete in front and have backspace, longform formula input, arrow keys and multi line equation display for fractions. I regret purchasing this.
I've used this calculator for years and don't know why I waited so long to pay for the upgrade. Developers deserves this for making one of the most useful apps out there.
Realcalc is probably the only non-stock app I have had installed since my first Android, a G1. Always free, usable and unobtrusive. Buying the plus version just to show my appreciation. Ty Update: comment originally posted on 01/03/2012 and it continues to be true 4 years later.
Very functional calculator app which is of course the most important quality. Could use a lot of help in the looks department though. I also wonder if the developer has abandoned the app. No updates since Oct 2015.
Bonus that it has good error handling, I divided by zero and the universe didn't end.....as far as I can tell.

I used the free version of this calculator for quite a while because the one that came with my phone didn't do everything I wanted. After a long time I realised I still hadn't found anything to criticise, so I decided to show my appreciation and pay for it. Not only am I able to do trigonometry (yes, some of us do actually use that crazy stuff we learned at school!), it will also do all the conversions I need which I find really useful. Another feature I find handy is being able to to look back at recent answers, and the older I get, the more I use it. I sincerely recommend this app.
