The Times & Sunday Times News for Android
Generally works well but would benefit from more flexibility in where editions are stored. It is storage hungry which can be a problem on 16GB tablets and so the ability to change storage to an SD card would be a huge convenience.
Does not work with my Android 7.11 Lenovo Tab 4, will not allow me to log in despite the fact my account works fine on my laptop and Android 6.0 phone.....
Sunday Times football match report links don't work so I can only read top couple of lines. One of several frustrations ...
Auto download overnight works most of the time. Only thing missing is the website has comments - app doesn't. Also you have to learn which way to scroll through the various articles. (nexus 7)
The only thing that annoys me is that sharing articles does not work correctly. Otherwise it's a pleasure to use on my notepad or my Android phone.
Switched from the Guardian and it's really good with interactive crossword, video of football games and a format close to printed edition. Can't use external storage so eats up space unless you manage it.
It is very storage hungry and I can't put the editions in SD card so the storage on my tablet is comprised
Cannot login to access crossword puzzle club. Works (badly) on desktop and 'phone.
Excellent way to get the Times without having to leave home. I also like the premier league goals highlights on each team and to be able to save and share articles.
No facility for reading comments. Poor value for such a high monthly payment.
Seems to have improved over the last few months. I like it.
Wonderful to connect again. Nice layout and some colour as well. Not sure I can do the crossword though.
All well for some time now. Good reading experience on LenovoTab 3 plus. Many thanks!
No way of sending in screenshots of bugs & crashes - feedback form only allows text. Poor formatting. Poor support.
Works well most of the time, occasionally an article gets truncated
Excellent layout on tablet, less good on phone
Enjoy articles that I want to read and crosswords most of them. Thank you
excellent. I can keep up with events/developments every where in the world I am.
Keeps me uptodate everyday.
Much improved app, up to 4 starts from 2 :-)
Very easy to use. The navigation is good.
Very good news and sport
Game changer. Love it
Great app
Worked fine until update. Now won't download pictures and hangs when opening edition. Update on review This problem has been fixed but formatting on android edition on my Galaxy tab s2 is awful. Font changes spacing in articles and disappears off bottom of page. Insert highlights overwrite main text. Yet another example of ignoring android users.
2 problems (persisting after reinstall and even factory reset) 1. Corruption in images and text on some pages, e.g. front page of Sunday times has a central picture, but surrounding test and graphics are all corrupt. E.g. readers forum page, when you click, the text that should show is corrupt. 2. Desperately needs a "download all now" button (for when background downloading has failed)
The issues of older versions no longer exist. The app is fast and responsive, and the layout is perfect. It works well in landscape as well as portrait. Highly recommended for your daily newspaper.
I'm running Android 7 on a Samsung tab S2 and it won't log on to my Times subscription. My Samsung A3 runs Android 6 and has no problems.
Good app. I use this on a lenovo tablet and have had no problems. Content excellent as you would expect. I particularly enjoy the columns. Can't beat the print edition but I can't always get to the newsagent. Easy to navigate
A great app, very reliable in my experience. It works better in portrait mode as just occasionally headlines don't display correctly in landscape.
Cannot log in. Takes me back to the login page every time I enter my user name and password.
Took a while to get used to!
The crossword input has always been erratic in that letters are sometimes accepted but often nothing happens. This has been going on for a very long time and recently previous days letters appear in the grid meaning a reset has to be done. Otherwise it seems to work reasonably well. I had been invited to join a beta testing group, but that seems to have been abandoned, without the courtesy of telling anyone....
The only way to have my daily fix of The Times crossword after my local newsagent closed. Unfortunately the puzzle page, especially the crosswords, are very clunky (i.e regularly touch insensitive, in need of a daily refresh and loses the plot when you submit your answer). The rest of the paper is fine though.
Update: Today Q&A section doesn't scroll at all so can only read part of it. Have been trying to use this for two years on Asus ZenPad 5. Description says "Editions are perfectly formatted to display any article". Truth is rather different. Half the time those pages which require vertical scrolling hang. Requires reboot to refresh. I have sent many logs for analysis. No reply. No improvement. Also still no ability to comment on articles. Very unprofessional support.
One day just kicked me out of my account. Now I cannot read The Times even though I have the tablet subscription. Log in details work on phone and PC.
Following on from previous threads regarding Crosswords, disappointed that unable to input answers onto grid with my new Lenovo tablet running Android 7.1.1. Worked fine on my old Samsung tablet running Android 4! Have to resort to doing crossword on my iPhone. Please fix this problem asap. Otherwise for actually reading the newspaper the App works fine.
There is a problem with stories requiring vertical scrolling. Jumps around without apparent reason, usually to the end, but sometimes to the start, necessitating a search to find where one left off.
I loved this app on my iPad but recently changed to a Samsung tablet and was very disappointed by the mind games section. No sudoku and the inferior Sunday Times crossword format. No mention of this difference in any of the advertising!!

Like that you can look month back and easily save articles. Pity you can't do classic Sudoku and Tredoku on line, have to email and print!
