Cam Viewer

After much debate I finally decided to buy the Nextbase 422GW. I am delighted with the camera but very disappointed with the app. It will not play the videos on my tablet. It will on my phone and iMac but it won't allow sharing of them so you can provide them to insurance companies. If I had known this l would have bought a different brand. Really p****d off with it.

A load of shizzle doesn't work at all. Need to be fixed ASAP cannot download important videos any other way!!.. Last version was better before the update

junk!!!Latest update rarely connects 312gw and gal s7. When it does say device connected, refuses to access vids or cam Sort it out guys ,this was one of the reasons I opted for this cam. On rhe plus side the one time it did connect looms lime you can directly share or attach vids to email etc. Rather than uploading to server (needs aweek to do this too btw) 15/5/17 tried it today after latest update. Many times better Connects,thumbnails unlocks vids lost connection once but reconnected almost instanly. A lot better thanks

Everything works except the sharing bit. I can connect with WiFi to the camera, download my selected video to my phone, select it for sharing, select where it needs to go (and I have tried various media whatsapp, email etc.) but it fails everytime. So now what??

Since latest update, still absolutely rubbish, it doesn't work, doesn't stay connected to cam 312GW and it would seem I'm not the only one from the reviews, clearly an error that needs fixing. When it does connect downloading is slow and as the videos stay in the app you really need ability to trim as files are too large to share, if not you at least need to be able to put video on phone so you can use a 3rd party app to trim.

I have only got a basic smart phone and this app works without fault every time, connects first time, plays videos without hesitation. Can't see what all the negative comments are about...

Since recent software update keep getting dash cam connection lost .. WiFi connected to phone and camera .. can see cam view on phone screen however can't access the videos. . Gives error message .. dash cam connection lost

Since the new app came along I can no longer download videos from my camera. I can connect to the live view and nothing else.

Unable to send downloaded video via email or any platform. Waste of time being WiFi. This app has clearly been rushed out but is totally useless.

This app worked fine no problem, since update I can no longer connect my phone to view video just keep getting messages saying "network has no Internet connection" not happy as need footage recently after a incident. PLEASE FIX!

I've had my dashcam since Christmas, and I have had no issues with it until recently. But uninstalled the app, and then reinstalled the app again, and happy days everything is working the way it should be.

Not very good. The app takes ages to find my dash cam and even then it keeps losing my dash cam every 60 seconds

It worked fine until you keep messing with the app seriously pi##ed off now with this app I.might take it back for something more reliable

Painfully slow with lots of timeouts, unable to set save location so if you want to save to phone, have lots of on board space as empty SD storage is out of the question!

Works well with sony tablet and apple. Not so with samsung for some reason. But still great app for watching my videos back

Connection and downloading of the videos all work fine for me, simple to set up, but like many others I cannot share the videos to email, what's app etc...

App doesn't allow me to send videos by email or save them off my 412gw to my galaxy s7 emailed nextbase support twice no reply poor show wouldn't recommend to anyone

Have had a 312gw for a week and haven't been able to connect once in that time. Awful app.

Dash cam says device connected but despite repeated efforts the app says unable to connect with dash cam is it asking to much for it to work as advertised?

Used to love this app, it was great for viewing my videos but the recent update has broken it

The app won't allow me to share my downloaded videos, which renders the camera useless for insurance, police etc!!!!

Had my dashcam for a week now and have never been able to connect to it ,I also have a iOS iPad which connects and does everything it's meant to.please fix the android issues

At the moment it's not working just comes up with connection to dash cam lost tryed uninstall and reinstall the app but nothing still

Having just bought the 312GW this week, the app worked fine up to yesterday. I now get a message Connection to Dash Cam failed, when trying to access recorded videos. We've already spent a great deal of time setting this up both on p c and phone. I'm beginning to think a cheaper dash cam would have given us less grief. We were sold on the features, including being able to download easily to mobile phone. If we have to download updated firmware already, we think it might be better to return this while we can. Surely, the app downloaded this week must be up to date and is automatically updated thereafter.

I'm using it with the 412GW and even though it always says device connected on the dash cam itself, at times the app won't connect which can be frustrating. Also it doesn't show which videos have been protected when browsing the camera from the phone so it is difficult to tell which videos you have tagged by pressing the protect button on the dash cam. Update. I had an issue on my Nexus 6P that when I let the software try and scan and connect to the camera automatically it crashed the phone and wouldn't let my phone reliably connect to any WiFi at all after that. It would crash and hang every time I turned on WiFi. Support were unable to help. I tried many things to resolve it but eventually (after a few days) I was able to connect to a different WiFi rather than my home one, at which point I could remove the Nextbase saved Network. My next option would have been a factory reset which is unacceptable. I haven't tried the latest version and if I do I am not going to allow the auto connect feature as I think that's what caused the problem. I'll manually connect to the cam first and then start the app.

Wonderful year with this camera. Started using the app as required and needed. Then compete change of user interface, which isn't a problem to get a new look. However, I now struggle to get a connection at all to my camera for live viewing. And when trying to look at camera videos it just does not work... at all! Really pleased when I got this as it is direct and quick access. Now I have to wait until I get home to my laptop. Ashame...

I spent a great deal of time and money on the 312gw and so far my purchase of two weeks ago I cannot connect to Wi-Fi as keeps saying connection to dash cam lost. Not once has it connected to my S7. I see no point continuing with the 312gw if cannot upload to any device. Please explain Nextbase to me why this is happening.

Using the 312GW when I download the files to my android device you cannot send them via email? It doesn't attach the file? Too big maybe? A tad dissapointed. Much work needed. What's the point if you have no way of transferring the files for insurance purposes.

The whole idea of the wifi mode is pointless. Yes I can watch recordings from the camera on my phone, and download them to the app so that I no longer need to be next to the camera. But then saving the data to my phone, or uploading it to any other platform just does not work. Errors pop up, and no data is read. Please fix this asap, as this issue renders the wifi function useless. Thanks

Seems to work as advertised. Downloading video files from the camera over WiFi is painfully slow but other than that seems to work well. Edit: just noticed that if I try to export the videos from this app to WhatsApp or YouTube it just errors! It's pointless using the app if I can't share the videos. Can't seem to find them on the phone storage only in the app. Edit 2: it seems that you can only share photos! Videos just refuse to be shared with any service (YouTube, Email, WhatsApp, Google Photos,etc.) The app is great for connecting to the dashcam and downloading content to the phone but it's stuck on the phone at this point with now way I can see to upload/share it. Please fix for 5 star rating. 412GW using Samsung S8. Connectivity excellent but sharing content from the phone simply does not work!

I was reluctant to download and use this app based on the negative comments. However the latest version seemed to tackle the issues identified so I thought it was worth a go. So far it works faultlessly ( a little slow to transfer the files though).

If I knew this app would be so disappointing I wouldn't of bought the dash cam. It's very slow to download 3 minute long videos, most of the time it won't play them back and when it does it is so distorted and slow you can't make things out. If it gets better I will gladly change my review.

Since update it just says connection lost when trying to view any video. It's a great camera the 312 but this app is pony. I thought one of the main players such as nextbase would have a reliable support platform. Obviously not.

Once the vid is on your phone, there are no ways to send it elsewhere. The sharing functions don't work for any platform. This app renders the wifi function useless; the wifi dashcam feature that people pay more for. Stick with the non wifi dashcam :)

Worked well until the latest update. Now it is useless: connects to cam Wi-Fi but whenever you try to view the videos on the camera you get 'connection lost'

After the latest update everything works correctly. I have just connected to my dash cam first time, viewed all the videos and downloaded some. I can now confirm this app is working as it should. 5*

Tried to use this with a 412gw. It takes nearly 8 mins to download a file. It doesn't allow the protected files to be unlocked or any files to be deleted. Phone just sits there getting hot. It's quicker to take the sd card out and plug into the bottom of the phone.

Pointless have to reconnect to dash cam all the time. No permanent setting easier to download videos by wire. What's the point if only works when you press wifi button and have to reconnect all of the time.

Not working. Have just tried to download a file from the 312gw, my phone is connected as live view is working on my phone, however soon as I click to view files on the cam, it disconnects, have tried it a few times and no luck, device says connected and everytime I go back the live view is working.

Contacted Nextbase who tell me they are having issues with android version.7. Connects to camera WiFi but no picture just black screen. Tried on Android very. 6, all works.
