Light Effect Director

This app was developed as Lollipop appears to have an annoying bug whereby notifications that request setting the color of the LED notification light fails to work. Secondly there is no way to customise the color of notifications on a per app basis.

This app needs root access only to be able to access the LED light hardware directly and get round the current limitations in Lollipop.

This app listens for notifications and allows you to configure the color of the notification LED light on a per application basis.

You can choose the LED color, control the blink rate and whether the LED blinks when the screen is on.

The lighting of the LED also honours the new Lollipop priority notification settings, e.g. SMS messages from non-priority contacts won't cause the LED to flash if priority mode is active.

This is an early version of the app so comments are welcomed, more functionality and enhancements will be released in due course.

After install we recommend that you setup your Super User app to grant Light Effect Director root access. You might also want to turn off prompts every time Light Effect Director requests root access to avoid annoying popups when root functionality is used to turn on the notification LED light..
