Delete old messages

Works on my HTC evo 4g. Never crashes, and works correctly. Bought this app ages ago because it works and still does to this day. It's only slow to delete because it hasta delete the catalogged data. For me over 10823 texts and 600+ some picture messages

Long story short I had 30k+ texts. My messaging app was running slow at 10k so I downloaded go sms pro. Now go sms pro is begging to slow. I searched for many sms deleters and downloaded around 5 different ones. None of them worked. It was freeze and force close. This the last app I downloaded to delete my messages. It took a little more then 24 hours to delete 30k texts but it got the job done

I've been using GoSMS for a couple years and have over 80k messages in total. 40673 just between my gf and I. When I try to delete any of the larger groups, 5k+ my phone freezes, restarts, and when it comes back up no messages have been deleted. Hoped this would work. This app said it deleted 40K but nothing was missing.

I had over 40,000 texts between me and my boyfriend from a year and a half of texts and this cleaned it right up! I'm amazed! Kills the battery, so make sure you have a charger nearby.

It does not work @ all. It just show you a fake information like already deleted all of your old ms but it did not.

Use to very handy though it took some time to delete a lot of messages. Now it acts like its going incredibly fast deleting thousands messages in a matter of seconds but nothing actually happens.

The App shows me a nifty display as if it is deleting messages, however, it is a only displaying the number of messages it would delete if I paid for the App. It leads you to believe they are deleted, but if you actually check your messages, nothing has been removed. Each month the number it displays gets bigger and bigger. Clearly this number would be relatively the same and even less at times if it was actually doing what it says it does. Shame on them if this is a ploy to get me to pay. Why would I?

had over 10k messages with one person. and tried hand deleting them and my phone would freeze up. downloaded this and it deleted them in less than a minute. sped up my phone and got the messaging to stop crashing! thought i was going to have to factory reset my phone. thank you so much !

Couldnt get my phone to delete my old sms messages, it would just lock up and freeze (you would think samsung would have tried to fix that) so i went on the search to find a way to solve the problem and this app did exactly that. Its no speed demon but it was able to wipe over 40k in sms messages that had built up due to my phone being able to erase even single convos without freezing. Great app thanks.

Sorry did not work on my HTC 10. I can see that it found the messages and states that it deleted them but it didn't actually delete them. Running the program again recognized the messages again and running again failed to execute

My phone was lagging and I couldn't delete my old messages. The messages app kept on crashing when i tried deleting my threads that had over a thousand messages until I downloaded this and deleted all my old old texts. Awesome app.

Used to work. doesn't work anymore. Acts like it deletes messages but none of them are deleted.

Recovered 40000 SMS messages to my phone by mistake and completely hung the native app - downloaded this and removed the excess messages. Works a treat!

I have over 13000 text messages in one conversation that I haven't deleted because I didn't realize how quickly they piled up and so I downloaded this app and I tried it twice, restarted my phone, and it doesn't work.

Fixed problem with dx not deleting text messages and the changing date of dec 31 1969! Great job guys

Deleted my messages quickly I had 3000+ msg threads , deleting little by little seems better. Can still do other things on phone while its deleting.

I just ran the app. When it finished, it said almost 39,000 messages were deleted. I went into my messages and not a single one was out of place...

Been trying to delete more than 49k sms by installing go sms and other sms related app but to no avail. It just freezes my phone. Have considered to root my phone as well until I found this app. Yes, it is quite slow because of the huge count of my sms but it does the work. I am now down to 30k sms and still working with the remaining. I am very pleased with the app and very thankful to the developers

Wish this app worked. It says it's deleting over 4,000 text messages every time I run it, and the status bar makes it look like it's working, but nothing ever gets deleted on my Samsung Note 3. I still have all texts going back to 2014 even though I tell the app to only keep a few month's worth. Uninstalling.

I really want to be able to use this app. I use Hangouts for my texting app. And it has a very ambiguous "delete old messages when phone storage is low" option. I have no idea what is being deleted and when. This app would be great if you could get it work with later versions. S5 5.1.1

Works ... sort of. It seems to work to get rid of some old texts but doesn't work to get rid of all old texts. I just ran this program to delete anything over 1 month old. It said it deleted 2,000+ texts. When I look at my text conversation with my son there are still texts dating back to 10/20/2014. So either I'm doing something wrong or this program only works part of the time. Since no other app info available, I think it's the program that doesn't work ... 2 stars

Doesn't seem to work for me. It loads messages, let's me select messages to delete (date range), goes through the delete process but then finishes with no message, no errors... and no messages deleted...

I just used this app I hit the delete all messages over 2 months old button then went to look at my texts and was still seeing texts from back in may 2015

but it's helpful and 1 thing needs to be fixed. Were it doesn't auto erase protected/locked messages while it's erasing lots of them, there should be an option to keep or erase locked massages

I have a HUGE amount of messages on my phone, so that may be part of ot. However the app ran fine, and displayed the bar, as it supposively deleted the messages, and when it was finished, I tapped "thanks" and thought it was finished. I went to check and every message was still there. Please fix. I am using the Samsung Galaxy S5

Shows count of messages being deleted but messages are still visible.. Fake app!

Does the job but slooooowly!! Took over 5 hours to delete 9000 messages. I let it run overnight so not a big deal. Should take a lot less time in subsequent runs since there will be far fewer messages to delete.

Please give the developer due credit. Up until KitKat 4.4, this worked beautifully. It's not his fault that Google removed the functionality thereafter. So if you're using KitKat and it's not deleting your messages, READ THE DESCRIPTION AGAIN and stop leaving 1 star reviews.

Pro version will not auto delete. Stick with this free version. Bought pro almost 2 years ago and dev never updated to fix issue. Don't give your money to this loser!!!!! Over 4 yrs, still no update.

Im giving it 4 stars because it only does the mesages for yesterday, and i want about an hour old text message to be able to be deleted.

Great app! Had about 15k messages and its deleted all of the ones over 2 months old! Pretty fast and you can use other apps while deleting messages!

I don't know what you guys are complaining about. This app deletes about 2 messages per second for me. And I can also do other things on my phone at the same time while it continues to delete them. It's probably just your phone. -EVO.

Great app for EVO, deleted over 11,000 messages while showing status bar, plus you are still able 2 text and make calls. Buying the full version.

Kept saying it deleted all my messages but did nothing in reality.

Only app to actually delete my 6000+ messages that were slowing down my phone :D Don't know what I'd do without it!
