When you open an account with HSBC you will be asked to provide evidence of your identity and confirmation of your address.
HSBC Identify is a tool used to quickly and conveniently submit the required documents, using your mobile device. To use this service you must have been asked to do so by either a HSBC staff member or have been instructed as part of an online application. Please do not use this app unless you have been instructed to do so by HSBC.
During this journey you will use your mobile device to take a photo of your documentation and a photo of your face. We will then verify the information that you have submitted and respond to you within two business days.

Terrible, just terrible. It freezes on the first page and i cant do a thing. HSBC, you should be ashamed for releasing apps that are so critical to your business but don't work.

Didn't work, tried reinstalling without success. Stuck on EULA page without loading anything, the online method also didn't work - last resort to an in branch visit.

Poor app for major bank 1. Using QR code from pc doesnt pre-populate main information fields 2. Wouldnt scan my UK passport no matter what I tried Scanned my DL for photo ID and council bill for address but then get an email from hsbc team saying not accepted as address was different on ID. But it also siad cant use DL for both ID and address and i wasnt wanting to. That issue more likely due to processing team but still its all wrapped up in HSBC app/service And 3. No support (as evident by lack of responses to reviews here!)

The "selfie" feature fails to access the camera, and hence the process is impossible to complete. This app is not fit for purpose.
