What are users saying about East Midlands Trains Tickets

U70%
by U####:

Not impressed as my expired tickets are still appearing as unused this means each time I buy a new ticket I have to scroll down looking for the correct ticket reference to redeem which can be quite confusing

W70%
by W####:

Why can't you get mobile tickets for super off peak tickets ? But you can for advanced etc

U70%
by U####:

Definitely improved on last version.. A few things still not how we would like.. Live times better but still no complete journey to see where your train is.. Would like to see my trains progress before the station I'm boarding at.. Version 1 had this.. This would allow me to make a considered choice of whether to wait to set off, choose another sevice or simply be able to inform others about what is going on..

V70%
by V####:

Impossible to set time for arrivals or departures. Changing the time on the clock face doesn't change the time for selected journey so I had to view journeys for 2100 hrs and then scroll through all the journeys to reach the 0600 trains that I wanted to view. Doesn't seem to be an option to just type in the time. Keep it simple!!

Z70%
by Z####:

It's been ruined! This was really simple. Now it seems to have lost my routes and it's not intuitive how to add them back!

U70%
by U####:

Nice slick design and has real potential but still needs a bit more work. The ability to sort and delete older journeys would be great and a geolocation feature to find local stations would be useful. A live departure and arrival page that also lists any delays or distruptions would be nice too. What's really going to make this app amazing though is the digital ticket feature which I understand is under development. Do you have an estimated release time for this feature? Good effort anyway guys. Definitely a keeper and has the potential to be a 5 star app.

F70%
by F####:

Not working at all, never should have "upgraded" to a new one

D70%
by D####:

Prefer the old app. On this app i am unable to purchase tickets as the card payment will not process. I have to go onto the website to pay for a train ticket

U70%
by U####:

Getting worse! Today told me that my train was cancelled when it wasn't, causing a massive panic. I tried to use the customer service contact form to tell them this but it kept saying that there was an error. An empty section for "saved journeys" is visible but I can't see an option to save journeys! Doesn't clear old, used tickets from "my tickets". In fact the new version of the app doesn't even put them into chronological travel dates any more which makes it very difficult to keep track of a lot of tickets.

I live in the south west but I deleted the GWR app and switched to the EMT app for much the same problems that are now apparent in your app. However, you've give and ruined your app too! The new version: 1) Doesn't store your favourite routes 2) Doesn't store your card details 3) Makes you input everything manually, and therefore: 4) Takes much longer to buy a ticket. For someone who commutes every day from a station with no ticket office and decides whether to use bus or rail 10 minutes before I travel, inputting all the above manually (whilst on foot) every time is not acceptable. The bus app (FirstGroup) is far easier, why can't you be? Have a look at this please. Public transport is about being quick and efficient. That should also apply to ticketing.

U70%
by U####:

Was 2*, but now the app saves card details. Still not quite as good as the old app, but definitely an improvement following the latest update

U70%
by U####:

*update* it gets worse! Bought tickets last night which when i tried to print at the station this morning was 'not printable' on the fast ticket machine. Thankfully the train manager took pity on me with my booking ref as a trip to the booking office to try and rectify would have meant missing my train.

U70%
by U####:

The app no longer has live times for intervening stations so impossible to gauge whether there is any delay.

J70%
by J####:

EMT, why did you take the live tracking system off? This has gone from a 5

N70%
by N####:

The recent update is great in terms of looks, but it's lost functionality. The biggest frustration is that it no longer shows comparison prices for different ticket types. The comparison is purely on cheapest price. This may be fine, but in reality most times the cheapest price would be an advance single. If your journey plans can't be fixed to a specific train, then you can't see options and prices for other ticket types until the very end of the process! So really, you may not be getting the cheapest price for your specific journey as the train selection is not based on the ticket type you need

U70%
by U####:

Like the layout. I can't see where to save to the Your Saved Routes bit. 3 ideas - The option to use your camera to read card details. Delete/hide old journeys in My Tickets. Option on search for direct trains only would make it even better

U70%
by U####:

Why remove the live tracking? Seeing where your train was (if it had left previous station on time) was really useful. I don't understand why you have made the app worse. The live train button to quickly find out when the next train is due gone as well? And how do you save any 'favourite' journeys (which was automatic)?

U70%
by U####:

Why remove the fast, easy to use, live times search? This new version means this takes longer to find. Horrid update. UPDATE: Also, why can't I search trains by when they arrive? It's more useful to have a specific arrival time, than departing time.

U70%
by U####:

This app has recently undergone a downgrade. A simple click used to show you live journey times. Now it is on a messy ticket driven page with "no obligation to purchase". Why force the user onto that page then? Its a very poor user experience, so will look at alternatives now.

H70%
by H####:

It's unfortunate that users were forced into the update, by having a popup which blocked the old one working - unless the old version had serious security flaws? And next time, please let's not have the popups warning about the new version in advance. Irritating, given it wasn't clear when the update would be available. Once is OK, but not for every search. The app needs to remember that the user has seen the notification.

U70%
by U####:

Latest Update is style over functionality. Lost all sorts of useful features. Notably I can't search for a train by arrival time?? Despite comments from Emma in response to other reviews, I can't find arrival and departure functionality in the find a train section. To state that functionality will be added over time is useless... I'll move to a working app and can see little reason to come back. Em trains.,ask for your money back, you've been stiffed by the development team.

U70%
by U####:

Can't believe how useless this app is now. Truly worthless. Ticket booking section unacceptable. Tickets section unacceptable. No other facilities provided. App uninstalled.

P70%
by P####:

Unfortunately it's gone from being a very useful app to purely a ticket purchasing app. The live journey tracker has vanished and so shall I

U70%
by U####:

Really sad with the new version. Hasnt saved any of my details. Doesn't seem to save your card details or if you have a railcard. Worst of all won't let me check out anymore so had to switch to trainline. Gutted!

G70%
by G####:

Where have the live train times gone? New app has much reduced functionality than the old one... Well done

U70%
by U####:

Hell of an update, you have removed everything that does not involve me buying a ticket (I appreciate there is no 'obligation' for me to buy said ticket but let's not kid around, that is your aim (see trainline app). This was my go to tool when I had to re jig my journey due to the rail networks frequent failures both mechanical and punctual. I could plan my route using the live times section to see when the various trains intersect. Now you are as useless as the trainline app. I appreciate you have replied to other reviews saying 'live times are in the new journey bit' but they are far to specific if you are trying to plan different strategies. All the previous options were really useful, now it is looks over functionality and that is not progress.

U70%
by U####:

Live times per station have disappeared! Was the only thing I used it for.

I70%
by I####:

All my bookings in jumbled up order, cannot see what I have booked ahead at a glance now.. Rubbish gone backwards

U70%
by U####:

Really? Very unintuitive, key functions well hidden, asks you to"log in again" half way through a transaction. Why do I have to put my card details in EVERY TIME? Please try again. And can we have the much promised mTicket feature sooner, rather than later?

U70%
by U####:

Don't like the new layout. So much easier with live trains without having to do a search first. If it's not broke....

V70%
by V####:

Removed the ability to search for trains by arrival time, always the way I book my tickets so now uninstalling.

Y70%
by Y####:

awful app,no more live trains, whoever designed this wants sacking

U70%
by U####:

Not the app it used to be - why remove functionality? That's not progress.

U70%
by U####:

Slower and harder to use that the older app. And how do you save your card details? I have to buy tickets every day which means entering my card details every single time.

U70%
by U####:

Not as good as the last versionn Why no live timing?

P70%
by P####:

Bring back live times! Never seen an "update" remove features

U70%
by U####:

Best bit about the old app was live trains. If it's still there it's far to well hidden. Major backwards step for this app.

C70%
by C####:

where is the return one month option, all settings are out

Q70%
by Q####:

Where's live times gone?

U70%
by U####:

awesome app, was never able to book a ticket so fast...
