Tech has potential, the company doesn't. Awful customer support and really backwards and old fashioned thinking by HIVE not allowing 3rd party integration to other tech such as Google Home or official support for Samsung Smart Things. They're trying to lock you into the HIVE ecosystem, which wouldn't be so bad, if it wasn't so bad, but it is. It's this backwards thinking which in a few years time when HIVE is dead and buried you'll look back and think, 'what went wrong'. Sad really

Why are updates being rolled out to prod before being full UAT? Replying to YOUR users' comments to say their lost functionality will be fixed in the future is not very good, you must agree? If you market any product, there's a fair expectation (moral and legal) that the product 'will do what it says on the tin'. Geolocation: does not work as advised in app. Ever. Refreshing app is more miss than hit. This is just my basic heating controls. How can you expect me to expand to other services at this stage? PLEASE don't try palming me off with a rubbish answer. Please provide explanation of the cause of the current issue with the tested full remediation plan. Thanks D

No widgets to control lights but you can't even do that properly, there's no way in hell I will let you near my heating. The servers at Hive are so unreliable.

In the last few weeks my schedule doesn't appear to be kicking in. Have to keep boosting for an hour or change to manual. Reluctant to uninstall and reinstall after reading other comments of further issues.

Schedual keeps randomly changing.. getting annoying. Not sure why we have to program when to turn it off... just complicates it even more... it should just be time on and time off. Very confusing ... zwave os mich more easier. Sorry hive you lost this one

Your app is faulty and keeps locking up when I try to use it. Pretty U/S at any time but especially when temperatures are approaching ZERO. I pay more than enough so get it sorted out.

Google Home is compatible with hive sadly hive does not permit you to control the temperature with Google home but you can control lights (which I do not have) this is absurd. Heating is the primary function of Hive. I give this app one star because zero stars is not an option.

After update the app won't even load. Did you miss the entire testing cycle for this update? users have now become official testers for this app. 2 years later the whole platform only went downhill. They keep adding new devices and services without reaching a stable version. I guess this how not to do iterative releases.

Getting very bored of the fact that "Hive is draining your battery". Why does it need to run continuously in the background?!

App ok needs to be able to use back button on fone, to return to main menu. Schedule is a joke and over complicated for what it needs to do, I think a re think and design maybe called for. Not keen on paying £2.99 a month just to open more features when other manufacturers give for free, this is why I haven't expanded on other hive products, hoping the more people use this service the more chance the prices may drop? Overall 3 stars but could have 4 if design was improved, never 5 until price dropped I think we pay enough for the equipment.

Good and easy app. But the refresh takes forever to load until u give up and go and manually change. Please fix it asap or hive will soon be useless

App constantly refreshing. Why does geolocation not turn heating on and off instead of sending a message telling me to do it. Ad implies it does it. Poor app from company size of bg. A spotty 12 Yr old could do better.

completely useless for me as I can't install the thermostat in the app. Hive seemed to have ignored all my messages for help and the faq is useless too. Noone seems to have mentioned this issue so is it me or do I have a faulty unit?

Hive is a British Gas company and I thought I'd left this communist government silo many years ago. Also typically like BG, they are abusing customers and selling Hive products that cannot fully be integrated on IFTTT. It's a rip off. Buy another make.

Barely functional, freezes, doesn't link properly and is cumbersome in use. I've wasted my money buying Hive products in the delusion that they were all going to work together well and this app would control them.

Absolutely pathetic.. Every time I set it to 30 mins or 1 hour it freezes. . At about 1 min to go, and doesn't end. Resulting in the heating staying on constant. Making the house boiling and costing a fortune.

Wasted hours installing the hardware then wasted another couple of hours on the phone to Hive tech support as the Hub would not connect to the receiver or thermostat ..in the end told me that i had send the system back! the support is a joke. If you want to remote control of your heating system go for anything else.

The app constantly sticks saying saving so you have to close and re open most times

All worked fine for a day, now app just says refreshing after it opens and then crashes, restarting and reinstalling didn't help

Good when it works; it just keeps on freezing. Have to uninstall then reinstall to get it to work

Wow, this app is awful. So slow, clunky, counter-intuitive... I hate using it.

Frequency unable to open app, very unreliable, despite update

The concept of Hive is great but sadly the range of accessories is limited, no candle bulbs for example and those items which are available aren't cheap.

Why are people needing to control Hot Water, are we ALL not using Combination Boilers?

I really like the app as it is great to be able to set the heating when I'm about 20 mins away from home or before I get out of bed. But can I please ask you to fix the bug where when you open the app, it says refreshing, the screen goes cloudy and you have to exit and reopen the app. It's really annoying. Other than that I would recommend it. I'm sure this didn't happen on the iOS version I used until October. Thanks.

Once you've got a version that works for you, don't update it again as the update will break it. During the past year there have been far too many updates; most untested as they fail until fixed with another update. The latest annoyance, with my new Galaxy Note8, is that whenever I want to boost the heat, the screen goes cloudy and unresponsive; my only option is to restart the app. I am warning neighbours, with similar aged houses, to avoid the British Gas Hive system when it's time to replace their boilers and controllers.

Have you ever used this app? The refresh that never finishes if the app has previously been opened. You have to close it to be able to reopen and switch your heating on. Very annoying

As many others have posted, please fix the bug which causes the app to say 'refreshing' and/or 'saving' endlessly and requires a restart. This is a major annoyance and I can't believe it's not a priority for the Hive team. This bug has been there for months despite several updates to the app. Please fix!

Whilst this app works, the scheduling system is AWFUL. Literally I can't figure it out. Sometimes it lets me schedule a time, sometimes it doesn't. It's buggy as hell. Fix this please. We're spending a LOT of money on your kit the least you can do is supply a properly working app.

I don't seem to be having the issue others have and generally like the app. It would be great if the back button actually went back rather than exiting the app, it's driving me mildly potty ????

Just installed the latest update and nothing works now !! So frustrating !! Since the last update I can no longer see what the outside temperature is which was a really good feature ???? Won't give a true reading unless you switch off the heating and then on again. Refreshing doesn't work. Please sort this problem out. It used to work fine before the last update.

Can you please fix this app - it stays on refresh unless you delete it and reinstall. Absolutely pointless! Its a real shame as the heating product is really good - I am genuinely considering sending the unit back. 170 pound for a selling point that doesn't work. I would not recommend - not even worth one star. Look at your ratings !!

Seems ok so far although being able to advance to next schedule for hot water would be good. (You can for heating) setting to off just means cold water but would be nice to turn off by advancing to next schedule.

Another update, another set of problems.. refreshing takes ages of it works at all, outdoor temp disappeared from widget... try testing the updates before releasing them!!

Shocking update that's now made the app useless !!! The main control panel is blank circles. Well done hive team ????

Refreshing in the App still needs work as sometimes just hangs. Most annoying thing though is the fact I don't get a constant warmth in the house like a conventional thermostat, still races to the set temperature, still goes half to 1 degree above the target and then as the air temperature is still high, results in having to turn the set temperature up to reheat the rads and get some warmth back.
