micro Journal for Android
★ Everything is private by default (though can be later shared).
★ Capture thoughts and ideas as you constrain yourself to very short "micro" entries.
★ Want an idea for something to write about? Hit the prompt button ("!") and get a short suggestion.
If you want a fully featured note App, with online sync and so on, I personally recommend Evernote. However, if you want a simple, easy to use App which forces you to be concise and which allows you to quickly share journal entries/notes via Twitter, SMS and so on, then microJournal is ideal.
Using microJournal
☆ Tap a saved note to share it.
☆ Hold on a saved note to edit it, clone it (start editing a copy of it) or to delete it.
☆ Export and import to and from SD card to allow you to backup/restore your entries.
☆ Premium export to word processors, blogs and email now available (requires purchase of key app).
Free
☆ The main functions of the app will remain free (including backup facility).
Premium Features
☆ There are several extra features to thank those who support the development of the App including extra settings (character limit, skip menu) and extra export options.
Small notes keep you from over extending and complicating. Keep the stuff you really need, so you can find it if you need inspiration or guidance from your wiser self.
I love an app that does just a few things very well. I use this app to create a real-time log of sorts, noting briefly what I've been up to, and it's perfect for that.
This is a great app but it would be much better if it could be linked to the cloud (Dropbox, Google, etc.). In absence of this, does anyone know how to update the backup file on the sd to a cloud account?
Not really! I
Fleeting thoughts in so many characters. Kinda like twitter but really needs a passcode lock to receive the 5th star.
Great I use it all most every day.
While I like the app and design, it is tedious to go back to a start screen to make a new note. Also, it might be nice to update your app every couple of years... :-) Update. Lose another star for being a profoundly unproductive person.
Or allow a custom colour options as an in app payment. That unpleasant orange is driving me crazy--the black in the preview pics is better, if nothing else. I'd prefer nice colours but would rather the black than the orange. It would also be nice if the key allowed one more setting between 250 and 500 characters. 400 would be good. Otherwise a really good app (5 stars with colour change, pretty please.) Thank you :)
While this app is convenient to initially jot things down... *drumroll* 'Tap OR Double Tap Entry to Edit'(!) would take the user experience of Micro Journal to MINDBLOWING new heights! As of right now, that requires no less than 3 steps: TAP + HOLD > WAIT FOR IT > LOL XD > SELECT EDIT. Busy students like me who [would like to] use this as a daily driver just crave simplicity and time. I want you to TAKE MY MONEY and will rate 5 shuriken once implemented, deal!?! Until then rip mj :(
I don't want people who borrow my phone see my entries.
Got me to keep a journal, but I realized I'd like something with more space for my thoughts
Switched phones and app errors on trying to restore from sd card. Lost everything. Won't chance using this again. Uninstalling. :-(
It is simple and does what I want
I don't like how the entries have to be 100 characters or left. Just not a journal to me, more like a notepad it a stickynote
1.rename it to “tweeToMyself” 2.add auto split 3.make it 140 4.let it display emoji
The export/import data from the SD card feature works well (I've tried some diary apps where it doesn't work at all). The limited characters force more concise entries. The prompts are a nice bonus. Night-mode or other color choices are missing, but that's too minor an issue in an app I use so frequently.
This is perfect. So many times ive had ideas and thoughts that i wish i would have written down, now I've forgotten. Just think of all the genius that has slipped away.
The limit on entries sincerely helps me organize my thoughts and reduces pressure to impress

Just what I was needing to log the days activities with our newborn. I wish you could edit the timestamp and would love a shortcut to add new entries.
At last, a journal that resembles the minimalistic approach of Godville's "Hero's Diary", haha... Suggestions: I think it's better if the journal view is shown first instead of list of options. If you could change that, this deserve five stars. Still, it's a good app.
Awesome for quick notes/ideas/reminders that aren't time based. Excellent.
Not bad. An option to customize entry length would be great. 100 characters is pretty short.
Excellent app! Plz add ics support. Dont wanna miss this app when my phone gets ics. SGS II
I use this to track my 100 word stories and loglines. The export options to various other formats such as Springpad enhances it's usefulness.one of the best note apps around IMO.
Perfect for what I was looking for. Add little notes over the course of your day, include key words and later you can easily search for them. What did your boss say he prefers? Make a quick note and 2 months later search for "boss" key word, bam, right there. I use it like a digital mental note! Good job guys, thanks.
Need options to have long or short entries
It also needs a lock!

Truly create for logging/journalling activity
...in its minimalism. But as data grows, it becomes harder to reach for the earliest entries. To justify the price of the full version, please implement a simple way to access older entries, like a basic monthly/semester calendar or some relative scroll grip handle to scroll quickly in the "All" view.
Very good app
Great idea and a very neat app!
Been using this for two years and still love it. I like to save quotes and those little story ideas that sneak up on me. Not fancy but who cares. The prompts are a nice touch too.

I use this almost every day, it is one of the best apps on the market hands down.
I'm concise, but particular about my words. I like this app, but it would be much better if this much text could fit. EDIT - does what I want it to do and char cap is adjustable. 5/5.
