Write: Tablet Notepad/Journal for Android
Developer should jump back aboard! This is a classic that deserves attention
I love how well this app integrates with my theme and keyboard. Only one problem, though; when editing, the text appears in one continuous line rather than word-wrapping and taking up the whole screen, as pictured in screenshots above. I'm running CM 11 on my Nook HD. Is this a device-related quirk?
I've been using this to write a book... I think it's great.
Crashing on markdown, cannot open files, and a few other minor annoyances, but nice nonetheless. I hope the developer continues to work on it.
One of the best editing notebook apps. Second only to JotterX
It stopped opening after the latest update
Not working since update ¿¡!?
"Write" is exactly what this app lets you do — no frills, no distractions, just a blank slate for your creative efforts (or notes, or journal entries, etc). No need for persistent (or even intermittent) Internet, either. Reading mode (in which you can't make accidental changes) and convenient sharing options complete the picture. Near perfect on both 8" and 10.1“ tablets, though an automatic cloud backup wouldn't be amiss. Still, the cloudless approach keeps it free and resources light, and it's easy to back up manually by sharing to Drive, Dropbox, or email.
Excellent for everyday use. I cut, paste, email many documents every day using Write. I don't need a word processor for that. I have tried the other similar products and this is the best. Very inexpensive. No advertisements. It does not process images. Not a problem for me. When I need that, I use email.
I find it easy to use, as uncomplicated as a paper based notebook with the advantage of instant electronic sharing of results.

Clutter-free and powerful enough. It would be nice if each note saved as a txt file or something similar in a specified folder for easier exporting.

This app behaves differently depending on Android version. Under one version stats for the entry are displayed when entry is edited. Under another a title is displayed. When spell check is enabled the entry does not have word wrap when in edit mode.
This could be a great app. it has copy and paste shortcuts, undo history and spell-checking (that only works if you change something then press return). However it also has ctrl v as full screen, which makes something basic like working on text a chore.. also, there is bumph on the main page with pointless 'descriptions' in the left hand panel crowding out previous entries. It was my app of choice for a little while and could be again if the above were fixed. Google Docs is better ATM IMO.
My go-to text writer.
Simple yet plenty" easy yet complex,
I love this ap so far, minimal, no distractions, different modes and settings, and much more! But for some reason my spell check is not supported on my device (Samsung model: SM-T210R). Please fix or update?
Probably the best writing app I've used. Easy to get the hang of, good looking ui, very pleasant to use :)
one question though - any way for bold, italics and underlined and such?
Write can't see files with "md" extension in its Dropbox folder — could you please fix this?
Love it, use it all the time! Not sure why I can no longer put anything but the editing page in night mode, though. The main page is now difficult for me to read....
An indispensable tool worth being a stock one (you dig MS Word?)_ Very useful to me for reviews drafts, avoiding me to re-write them when connection fails so each time gotta copy them to clipboard_ quite annoying. The share option offers you all the choices to use your writings and you can revise and edit them directly.

Distraction-free, eye-friendly writing app that works great for first drafts where you need to just buckle down and write. Even better if you Bluetooth it to a keyboard.
This app combined with a swype style keyboard makes it possible to use my nexus as an electronic notebook.
Jus bought this app so I can work on files on the Bus. Made a change to a file 55KB and it uploaded to Dropbox minus the last 1kB - only 54KB. What is the file size limitation??
I was wondering if there will ever be an option to password protect the entries on this app? That's the only thing missing for me. So far, I've only made one entry, but I love the layout thus far. Only other thing I'd like to see is the ability to create shortcuts for phrases (for me, I type in the day & date long form all the time, as well as the time I start writing an entry). Love this app so far!
Love the app, simple and elegant, needs check spelling.
This app is great for when you need to just focus on content. The simple and effective UI makes you want to write and focus on the content rather than the app itself, it just keeps out of the way.
Great App. More themes, Plesase.
I love this app and this does not crash. I enjoy the many features, try it out for your self.
I've been waiting for this update!! It's truly the best now.
Great writing app! I've tried several different ones and this is the best.
Love everything about it! Flawless
I love this app. I've had other notepad type apps and this one is by are my favorite. It even keeps up with my typing when other ones seem to be a bit laggy. Great job.
Of the other note writing apps I've seen this one is definitely the right style for me. I love the black screen/white text as I do a lot of random idea recording at night and it's easy on the eyes. I also like the folder system. My only real gripe with it is that I don't like the menu system all that much. I would give it a 5 star if my note folders weren't in the same place as the buttons that determine what notes are viewed. View parameter type buttons should be near a search bar, and the user-made folders alone should be on the left. I don't really like having to always be looking at a help/guide button right in front of my face after learning the program, and I would prefer my folders to be the most prominent thing, not half a screen's length of how to view my notes. If there is a way to move those buttons then it should be made a little clearer, then. Otherwise from the cosmetic issues I have with it, it's a favorite.
Truth is I was loving this app with its clean and simple interface until I got a text input error. I closed the app and when I reopened it more than 1500 words vanished. As a writer this looked like a good app for writing on the go with my Iconia a500 tablet but with this much work being lost I cannot afford to use it anymore.
not too much to choose among on android platform, keeping this i mind, this one is just ok for writing simple texts. the list on left hand side would be a lot better without the promotion for the other apps by this developer - just not relevant for use of app and distracting, remove it, thanks.

use this app on my tablet with a logitec keyboard more than my computer. There is one little quirk that keeps popping up. Contractions (isn't, wasn't, etc) are often marked as misspelled, even when it isn't, but I just need to replace any letter to correct it. This breaks the flow a little, but it is the only real complaint I have.
