About To Do Log

To Do Log was featured (globally) by Android Market in September/October 2011 and was top featured productivity App.

✔ To Do Log

To Do log is a to-do list and "not to-do list" in one. You assign points (either negative or positive) to tasks; then work to get the highest score over time by both doing things you want to do and avoiding those you shouldn't do. You can use it both for things you want to do and those you don't (so it is idea for new year resolutions, health or diet plans etc).

✔ Quick and flexible recording

You can easily add new repeating or one off items, mark them as done and record past occurrences of items. You can also add notes with additional information (and edit them later).

✔ Graphs for analysis

Later you can view graphs showing when you get stuff done, when you are most likely to get distracted or do negative things. By learning this you can take action to better achieve your goals.

You can export and import your data to and from external storage/sd card

✔ Recent Update

I've recently updated To Do Log for Android 4.0 upwards; this is now the vast majority of devices. But older devices can still use the previous version of the App.

Good: There is no other app that logs time of the task and let's you export data. Bad: the annoying waste of space between tasks when no description is given. Also barely functional and really ugly widget. These plus sync via Google account (or sth else) would make it a 6 star app.

Idea of app is great but I feel the design can be a lot better and simpler.. too complicated to use. Paid for it but never used because of that. Removing now

It's two dollars well spent as far as I'm concerned... it's amazing how rare it is to find a points tracker that actually let's you control the points.

I love this app. I have a list of daily habits that I'm trying to increase or decrease. Each one is worth points (or negative points). It really makes you aware of your habits. Competing against myself to get a high score for the day is highly motivating! It's easy enough to use but there are definitely some tweaks that hopefully will be added (fingers crossed) like being able to customize the categories and the order in which the items appear. If I could export as a .csv I'd be glad to give it 5 stars.

Requests: Multiple-choice alternative for variable. One item can be both positive (successful) & negative (failed): e.g., "meet schedule on time". In-app jumping to your other apps (if installed).

Can you please see if it's possible for groups of people to work on the same list? This could make the app particularly good for businesses and sales teams.

T70%

The negative variable is not working properly. It deducts scores by (times * multiplier * scores) + 1.

Rather than just another to do list app, this adds a carrot and stick element for motivation. Very useful for changing habits.

Best app for measuring success, if you do real estate check out Successful Day.

Great motivational tool, but not intended for project management. Use it with a sense of humor for tracking recurring tasks and moments of weakness.

Liking this app so far. Customizable point rewards / penalties for each habit you're trying to build / banish. I like this better than Habit Streak because I don't have to wait for the next day to record successes, and I can add items you can succeed / fail at multiple times per day. The points-based system works better than the streak-tracking, though it would be nice if that were included too. Giving it four stars because I think there's still room for improvement, but this is better than anything else.

User-defined categories are helpful as well, dividing entries and scores into favored fields. It's just my opinion. More personalization for users.

Well thought out. Worth the price. Easy to set up & use. Would like to manually sort items. And mode in widget.

Keeping track of everything I do throughout the day with the color-coded lists helps me stay focused and the point system keeps me motivated. Love it!

T70%
by T####:

I will have to admit...I was a bit skeptical about this app. It looks a somewhat complicated and I wasn't sure that keeping some scoreboard of my day would actually make a difference in my behavior. Actually, the concepts are completely intuitive after about 5 minutes of trying it out, and the interface is very well-designed. And I found the point system to be about 20 times more motivating than I expected. Put some thought into your point system, and this app could change your life.

T70%
by T####:

This app is a great framework for overall self improvement. Understand that you have to take some time in planning to really get the most out of it. Nothing major, maybe 1-2 hours total. Think of actions you want to increase, those you want to decrease, and various daily tasks that you should be doing. Figure out ranking. Attach points to each. The use often. The goal is to be positive every day. It is gaming habit formation and it can work.

X70%
by X####:

The ability to assign point values to various positive and negative events makes this a good tool for taking charge of your activities because now you have regular feedback regarding all those things you had already put out of your mind. Unfortunately, the innovative approach results in a U.I. which makes normal task management a bit clumsy. No big deal; I use another program for managing the daily tasks and this one for managing "myself".

Variable is abit confusing, should be set by only one multiplier, nothing more. Other then that, great app! Would recommend.

Good concept and support. Would be nice that when adding a todo item it remembers score from last item added or defaults to 1 instead of 2

Very good program. Some features I would like to have. Daily To Do list to check off. Weekly and semi weekly to do's. Track reading a book. Actual numbers rather than a score in the graphs. I would recommend it.

After using this for a while, I have to say the developer probably doesn't even use this app for themselves; it's not compatible with daily life. It doesn't handle daily/weekly to-dos, you can't catagorize one-off to-dos, and you can't create subtasks inside main tasks. The HabitRPG app actually does those things, so I recommend that instead.

This app lets you keep track of tasks but you can't categorize or tag them. Once a task is done it will stay on the list, making me feel like I've accomplished nothing, and making me have to go through the whole list to find the next item in a list that is sorted in the most inefficient way possible. Instead of making me more productive, this app just adds one more thing to keep track of, one more chore to my busy day. The "rewards" function distracts more than it motivates.

R70%
by R####:

What this app is most sorely missing is a feature to classify tasks using tags, and allowing the user to monitor success scores for different tags separately. Such a saeture would dramatically increase the app's usefulness to me.

I bought this after already buying and using both habit streak and tasklife. I tried out success log which worked so simply and elegantly, thought this would do the same but better. Problem is that points need to be categorized for one thing. I can see myself spending way too much time creating a point system instead of getting work done, and the balance will be impossible to get because how do you value exercise/work/study/time with friends etc etc. Basically you need to pick a category and stick with it at the moment. Blending points just wont work. However, on a positive note. Habit streak and Task Life both rock! And so does success log
