About Safe Bus
Please use this application to let us know where you feel safe and where you feel unsafe as you go about your journeys along the bus routes 25 and 29.
The data you send will be used to highlight areas where people are safe and unsafe, and help inform future interventions aimed at raising levels of safety on buses.
This is a collaborative project between Transport for London and University College London. For further information please contact Reka Solymosi at r.solymosi.11@ucl.ac.uk

Details of Study:
Who can participate? Anyone with an android mobile phone
Where? You will not be asked to go anywhere different. You will only be asked to go about your day-to-day life as normal, traveling to work and home and other places as you normally would. We will ask you to report any times you feel particularly unsafe or just let us know how you're feeling randomly (even that is completely safe)
What? You will be asked to complete a quick questionnaire when you first open the app, and this will just ask some brief questions about who you are, so we can get a sense of the people who have participated. This information will not be linkable back to you or your reports of safety in any way.
Then we will ask you to keep the app in mind, and whenever convenient, use it to tell us how safe you are feeling during your travels. The app will also send notifications to remind you to please use the app to report any times where you feel unsafe, or to let us know during which parts of your journey you are feeling particularly safe. To do this you will have to fill out a very short questionnaire in the app, that should take less than one minute to complete.
NOTE: please do not put yourself in vulnerable situations. We advise that if you experience a situation where you feel unsafe, you first remove yourself from the situation first, and to later report it using the ‘report a previous incident’ option once you are back in a safe place.
If at any time you have any questions or comments, or would like further information on anything, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please discuss the information above with others if you wish or ask us if there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information.
It is up to you to decide whether to take part or not; choosing not to take part will not disadvantage you in any way. If you do decide to take part you are still free to withdraw at any time and without giving a reason.
All data will be collected and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. No personal data will be kept. Any personal data submitted will be deleted and your responses will be completely anonymized.
If you are interested in the outcome of this research after your participation please let me know and I will be happy to share any results and findings once they emerge.
By downloading this application you agree to the above terms of the research project.
