MySurrey

Welcome to MySurrey, the campus app for visitors, students and staff at the University of Surrey.

MySurrey is a campus mobile app created by students for students. The app provides you with the University of Surrey’s latest news in the palm of your hand. MySurrey also enables you to check opening hours for shops, library facilities and other venues.

Using specially developed tags that have been installed on our main campus Stag Hill, as well as Hazel Farm and student village Manor Park, the MySurrey app will enable you to locate your current position on screen for guidance to your destination. Whether you are searching for the nearest coffee shop, wondering how to get to your lecturer’s office, or even if you are new to campus and just trying to find your way around, MySurrey covers all bases to make your time at Surrey as easy as possible.

Staff and students can sign-in to the app and make use of all of MySurrey’s functionality. What’s more, visitors on campus can access most of the existing functionality by using a dedicated guest mode.

The story:

In 2013, Electronic Engineering student Sam Williams created a mobile campus app for his final year project. His app was supported by Surrey’s Digital Platforms team, and the final product – MySurrey – was created.

The University of Surrey plans to build on this development by encouraging further student participation, letting users vote features ‘in’ or ‘out’, and giving students the opportunity to get involved in future tweaks and improvements.

○ Touchpoints – Scan tags at over 500 points throughout campus, giving you information about where you are and nearby services.

○ Campus Map – A detailed map of all the buildings on campus.

○ Places – Helping you find academic buildings, facilities and points of interest.

○ Contacts – Core contact details for many of our departments

○ Staff Directory – A list of all staff at the University, complete with contact details

○ Announcements - Receive targeted announcements, relevant to you (requires university account)

○ Useful Links – A personalised list of useful links (requires university account)
