Stopped working, now doesn't open at all?!?! Edited: Still not working and no support, poor show Open University ????. Edited: I am please to say new update now works perfectly ???? ????????????

It is very helpful for someone like who is always on the move and can't have a laptop everytime, would be better if it was a bit faster

Android 7 working now

As previously mentioned, this app is not compatible with Android 7. It's frustrating as app simply loads to a blank screen. UPDATED: several months later, this is still the case and the app remains completely useless to me UPDATED: an entire academic year has passed, and I have not been able to use this app once. UPDATE a new academic year begins and I still can't use it

I can download the ebooks but then it tells me I need another app(does not specify) to be able to read the books. Not happy. Looks like it could be a useful app for me if it was working correctly.

On the main website, I was unable to watch any of mini-clip tutorials due to not having a flash player. Fortunately, on this if you click on the CD it allows you to watch and download these clips of which there are many.

It's absolutely ridiculous that a online university as the open university hasn't updated this application in over two years. I have always used this application to watch and listen to the clips for my degree course. And now on either my tablet or phone all I get is a black screen. It's about time they updated it so their students can use it for their studies.

This used to be a great study aid having all my books available but now all I get is a BLACK SCREEN! Tried reinstalling no changes. Same with data or WiFi. Please fix and I'll go back to 5 stars.

When I first downloaded this app it worked. It's basic, but was useful for reading course material on the go (e.g on the train to work). Since upgrading my phone operating system (Android 7.1.1) all I get is a black screen.

A brilliant tool, just needs some finesse! For those who are moaning about the ebooks and ereaders - this app should either specify an ereader or be compatible with all/the main ones. To respond to other comments, I don't think it's harsh to leave a poor review for something which downloads ebooks but then isn't compatible when there is access to Kindle, adobe and office suites.

You might as well access the website on a browser. The app is a bit useless and rubbish. The website (mobile or otherwise) is so much better.

I have used this app successfully for the last two years. Since the latest android update I can't get it to open,it's supposed to help with my studies, until the app is updated to work with android nougat there's no point having it on my phone, or tablet

STILL not available for Android 7!! Just a black screen. Worked perfectly on android 6. Please hurry up and fix the update - it's been months now. Or open source it. Before I finish my studies if possible!

It doesn't load. It's not a memory thing as have plenty. The app is just bugged. Please update this as it would be a massive help from students

I can download but not read because apparently I don't have the correct app to do so. It doesn't specify what the app is though and my crystal ball has stopped working!!!

Tried re installing a few times. But wont let me past the initial sign in. Have tried various methods such as email and student ID number etc but the screen stays blank after signing in and if I tilt the phone to the side it just resets itself and asks me to enter details again. Using a non official app instead which is slow and limited but at least it works.

There are several things that bug me about this app. One being it has been updated since 2015 and it really shows. Apart from compatibility issues, one of the biggest problems with this app is that it has blocked the ability to move the app and the course material to the SD Card. This has resulted in a folder of over 1GB taking up the majoirty of storage on my phone and now I can't download the rest of my module material or any other apps. This app really needs the ability to save files to an SD Card rather than just saving straight to phone storage.

Doesn't launch - opens to a black screen and doesn't progress. Clearly broken. Other reviewers say similar, so not limited to just me.

Haven't been able to view anything on this app for a while now, doesn't load at all, pretty useless unless they fix whatever bug is causing it... ????

I've never tried downloading content onto my phone but I find this app useful for checking results, deadlines or the module and tutor forums when I'm on the go.

Frustrated that I can't use this for my second year, as an android 7 user I just get the black screen. This was an amazing app to keep up with my reading while out and about.

I just have a black screen. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I hope it is sorted soon, then I will review my rating

Used to work great. Now it loads to a blank black screen. Tried uninstall and reinstall, clearing cache etc to no avail. Disappointing.

Won't let me log in, though the same username & password work fine on the OU site. To make matters worse, it forgets the username I just entered as soon as I submit it, and for some reason the text box has no Paste function, so every time it fails to log me in I have to type out my username (email address) from scratch. Would rate 1 star, but that seems a little harsh when for all I know, this app is amazing if your can ever convince it to let you log in.

I loved this app before my phone upgraded to Android Nougat. Previously I was able to access all of my course materials, brilliant! Now...nothing...please fix this soon. I'm about to take my last course & it would help enormously if I could have this lovely app back!

Can sign on to the web interface in Chrome but the same details don't work in the app.

Nice to be able to download the books and study guide to your mobile to access it offline, but would be great to be able to access the interactive content/sound clips & animations and the maths help - I use the Student Home app for that.

No information within the app as to how to open the files once downloaded. Read a review on google play which said to download an e-reader app. Would it be so difficult to put this information within the app?

Going to have to use normal site on tablet - annoying!

The app is good and works well. You need to have an ebook reader app on your device that can open .acsm files I think. So adobe digital editions/ UB reader/ blue fire reader. The books will open fine then.

Wont load, can't do anything just black screen! Please fix it

Using stock android on a nexus device and it doesn't boot up. Completely useless as it is as it doesn't even start up

After log in it goes blank and goes back to log in screen.

Rubbish app doesn't recognise either my username or/and password. Can sign in online.

This has been invaluable for the last couple of years of my studies, as a no nonsense one-stop app for all my study material. However, since recently upgrading my Nexus 6 to Nougat it just shows a black screen when starting and moves no further. Please update this app, or better yet open source it and allow ex/current students to update it for you?

Those who lack the basic understanding to install a viewer to read the downloaded ebooks need to take a course in basic computer skills. Please just install a viewer and all is good, if it still doesn't work then you may have an issue with your phone set up, try resetting defaults. Reading the comments it is truly amazing how so many struggle with the basics... Install POCKETBOOK for those who are struggling. Alternatively search for eBook viewer or epub viewer there are loads available!

Extremely annoyed. Can download my course content but like the other reviews I can't get the books to open. Come on OU. Get it sorted. This could have been such a great app but it is sadly letting us OU Students down.1 out of 5 only cause it won't let me rate it 0_stars:0(

'Anywhere' would imply that you could access your study material on your android device in any location. This is not the case. The app tries to update every time it is opened. If you have no internet connection it locks you out. Why? What on earth is the reason for making the app so un-usable on a WiFi only tablet?

For those who can't find a compatible ebook reader, try UB reader. I have never had any problems with this app, and have been using it since it was created. As another commenter said, maybe ask before throwing a harsh review out. ** update ** In case anyone is having a problem with using audio files through the books, an app called Gitden reader can use these types of ebook (epub3).

No other app is as important than this one. It is easy to set up and use with module materials accessible on or off- line so you can study anywhere!!!
