It does work I just tested it, you just have to enclose all of the dots and marks in separate sections. It's not the developer's fault that you are too stupid to use the app even with instructions.

Now it's really limited with it's codes and options. Also, where could I find the older version of the app when it was just renamed to Artcodes?

It literally does not work on the Galaxy S4. I was looking forward to using this too

Make a temporary tatoo!

N70%

Great app, works neat, but I can't add any new codes! I want to rate more, but this is one of the main functions, so it's unusable. Please fix!

App does not work Nexus 5

N70%

I haven't had any problems with it and I think it is a great proof of concept. It may not be up to the current design standards and it could do with a bit of optimisation, but this has great potential. Nice work so far!

N70%
by N####:

After displaying the logo, closes. Interesting concept!

N70%

I look forward to seeing this work in due course, but all it does so far is crash.

M70%
by M####:

on htc evo 3D, make it stable please

F70%
by F####:

The app is not recognizing most of the codes on their site itself. Forget about the hand drawn ones. The concept itself is too limited that I feel it need to be changed from the base itself.

P70%

It crashes with CyanogenMod 11 (android 4.4) on Galaxy S3.

It crashes at startup on Nexus 4 with latest Android KitKat

Crashes on galaxy s3

V70%

The app crashes as soon as I launch it.

N70%

I like the concept. Unfortunately the app crashes too fast to see anything more than two pinguins. Waiting for an update…

F70%
by F####:

I saw this on numberphile, and I thought, "What a great way to promote my business!" Unfortunately, it's about as stable as a drunk guy on rollerskates. (Using a Galaxy s4) I really hope they sort out the problems, because this is an amazing concept.

N70%
by N####:

The concept within the app is extremely nice, although the application is quite unstable and crashes every so often. The cool thing about it is that you can just draw a random shape with some dots in it and have the application reading that.

M70%
by M####:

Can the scanning technology be added to my own app?

M70%
by M####:

It fails to recognize codes most of the time and won't allow me to create markers.

Doesn't work on HTC One S no viewfinder!

Works after latest update

Never used any versions till late April 2014, i.e. only use the majorly updated version. Works really well on my Nexus 5, quick to scan and easy to use. Very impressive system.

Installed on a 4.4.2 device. Also installed OpenCV. Didn't manage to make it work at recognizing regions and blobs (bad lighting conditions might be the culprit though). It is however much more polished and bug free from the last time. (Updated review to report the latest version status)

Was looking forward to trying this out after watching the Computerphile video, but am disappointed to see it doesn't work on the Nexus 5.

Tried to run this app today, however it tells me it cannot find OpenCV Manager and then asks me to install it. Not sure if this is safe or not. ** Update - Found OpenCV Manager and installed it, however now the application just opens and then gives me an "Unfortunately, Aestheticodes has stopped." error.

Latest app update improved things, app is responding but camera still does not work

S70%

I love the idea, but the app is definitely not ready for prime time, although it does work on my Droid Maxx. I hope they continue to work on this. I'd love to see it out in the wild, as it were.

E70%

For me, on droid bionic, it loads with a black screen and two buttons on the bottom. The buttons don't do anything. The app stays like that for a few minutes then crashes.
