Hertz, the WAV recorder for Android
Been using this for a while and love the quality of the recording but like another user posted I get annoyed when my recording stops because the screen rotated. I have had this issue on galaxy s4 htc thunderbolt and acer iconia
No recording timer or red record indicator. Files not found or recorded anywhere on SD card. Bum App
Outstanding quality
I just did a 1 hour recording this past weekend with Hertz at 44.1k. It did take over 2 hours to process the file after pushing stop, but it worked.
This app sounds clean! Uncompressed audio is what I'm after.
Very nice app, always choose the highest sample rate. The audio sounds awesome when playing it back.
So simple, and works so well! I've used this app for years
No complaints, very simple and to the point. All my live music recordings are surprisingly great quality. I love this recorder app!
Good app
This is a great app and always seems to work for me, however the highest quality recording setting produces very sustained sounding recordings filled with only echoes and feedback. Other words totally useless on this setting but so far fine for all others.
One of those Apps that is very useful.
No ads. Recordings sound tight.
Been using for years!
Screen rotation terminates recording. Samsung s3 if the screen auto rotate in recording the recording is terminated. That means the phone can not be moved during recording. Please fix.
Great
Good app
Chất lượng thu âm khá, chấp nhận được, và điều ưng ý nhất đó là nhanh gọn, nhấn 1 cái là thu âm ngay, dùng để thu âm chớp nhoáng thì hay nhất.

Good quality sound. No playback. 16000 hz played at half speed in music player! Preferred rehearsal asst app - also wav but w playback & organizatio
Very small, no bloat, simple, and that's good. Audio quality VERY good. Also, no suspicious app permissions --> 5 stars!!
Works well. Recording quality is better than any other free app I've tried. GUI is lacking and no playback feature. HTC Evo.
Hands down best quality recording in the market. The only flaw is it has little features. (Droid)
Worked great last night when getting harassed by the l.a.p.d. Recorded 10 minutes of name calling, threats, and contradicting statements.Must have app
Record in .wav with choice of different sample rates. Best quality sound, better than my portable audio recorded. Doesn't get any better.
I find this program easy to use and use it often. It gives you 3 bit rates to choose from, depending on your quality or storage space issues and preferences. Support from the developers is also great. They helped me recover a file that had been interrupted during the finalization process - the "saving to sd card" routine. Importing the file into a wave editor such as Audacity (free), fixes it. I adjusted the speed (-64% for my 16 bit recording), and it was fine. HTC EVO Shift 4G.
I've used this for a couple years on two or three different Android handsets, mostly for on-the-fly musical-idea capture. Even without mic level adjustment available, the sound quality for in-room music is very good-- and yes, that does actually vary significantly between recording apps. A loud rock rehearsal comes out clipped, but somehow it actually sounds kind of cool in a lo-fi way, rather than unlistenable like the output of so many other recording apps. Never really had it drop out or produce skipping in-file either, although the processing / writing time after a long recording session at higher sample rates can be really, really long. With the "slap the date in the title" button, it doesn't get much easier than this. If you need more functionality, TapeMachine is good too, but I always seem to hit up Hertz first.

Have a Samsung note 3 and it works perfectly
I feel I should applaud the developer for not feeling compelled to add unnecessary bells 'n' whistles to Hertz. It's great; name your file, choose your sample rate and off you go. Done! What could be easier? It's got none of the features that I—as an audio professional—would use at work... and it doesn't need them! Absolutely not. If I wanted those kind of features on a portable recording device I'd be waving my plastic at Marantz, not trying to squeeze that functionality out of a phone. Now, there is a little niggle; I must be fair. Hertz claims that 'recordings are saved to the SD card' whilst in actual fact they end up in the phone's internal memory. Whilst I expect that this problem is actually down to the phone, I would very much like to be able to alter these settings in Hertz itself and I haven't found a way to yet. However, this is a tiny little niggle which doesn't spoil a great app for me. So yeah, if you want a no bells 'n' whistles audio recorder, look no further. It records audio, it does it reliably... monster! The above minor criticism notwithstanding, a well-deserved five stars. Thank you! :-)
Dec 2011: This program FAILED me today when I needed it. Totally gutted. Cannot distress how much I'm in hate at the moment. June 2012 update: writing because it failed me twice over this month!! Seems you shouldn't press the home button too quickly until you're 5 secs into the recording. 45 mins of knowledge gone forever. Wanna know how it feels? Like a photographer didn't turn up for your wedding.
It has some latency issues at higher sample rates.
Love the option to record at different bit rates, though it does have a tendency to hic up during phone events after hitting record (ie screen timing out). Just wish I could set a custom directory to save the file, otherwise 5 stars easily.
Searched for hours on the net for a converter for my computer none worked for audio. Installed this app and made my recordings in minutes - a real time saver! I used the droid file browser to send the recordings by email.
Update: doesnt work on Moto x, says it cant access the mic. Old: Love it, on moto droid and Evo 4g. wav file recorder. Simple. Yellow speaker icon is easy to find. I wish it could play back but hey its free!
Does what it should. I'd five star it if it let me pick a storage directory
I wanted a small app. If possible please add system audio capture. Means the audio being played by device not via mic.
I recorded for an hour straight with screen off in my breast pocket. I set the quality at the highest rate available. Worked flawlessly! No stutter or skipping! Quality of audio is loud and clear. (Running stock ICS 4.0.4 Verizon)
Better if you could share items /open in gallery instead of music player so recordings can be shared

Does what it supposed to do unlike most of these apps nowadays
