About Sealife Tracker
If you are a diver, snorkeller, boat owner or coastal walker you can help scientists to collect much needed data on both invasive and climate change indicator marine species around the UK coastline. The Sealife Tracker project is a unique partnership between the British Sub Aqua Club, the Marine Biological Association, the Environment Agency, Scottish Natural Heritage, The Scottish Environment Protection Agency and the University of Bristol.
The Sealife tracker app shows you how to identify each species and enables you to easily submit geo-located photos whenever you find one. The app features 25 species - 14 of which are climate change indicators and 11 that are invasive, non-native species. There's an information page for each species with a photo gallery and also a "Confusion Species" gallery for each, to help you to correctly ID them.
You can also keep track of the project, view results and upload more records on the Sealife Tracker website: http://www.brc.ac.uk/sealife_tracker/home

As a keen snorkeler with an interest in invasive species this is fantastic. I've submitted several records already from the shoreline using the iPhone version and this is just as good. I have learnt a fair amount already by perusing this app. The look and feel is really nice and the image gallery section is a great idea. Off to download your AquaInvaders app now as, being a fisherman too, I'm constantly finding Signal Crayfish.... grrr. Great job.
