Rotation Lock Adaptive for Android
Will not run without giving the app accessibility permissions, which when turned on, cause your phone to automatically decrypt upon startup. The free version does not require this, so why is this needed in order for the app to work? Unusable app, bought and uninstalled with no refund.
Love it!!! It does what my stock rotation did but without any lag. I'm running CM 14.1 Android 7.1.1 and autorotation is horrible at the moment. It's a fight to make it rotate. This app makes auto rotate work and work fast. Even upside-down. Thank you!!! Well worth it. They also have a lock screen always portrait mode to save you from lock screen headaches.
Edit: I had to knock three stars off this review, which I wrote many years ago. Apparently in those years Android has improved and this... Well, hasn't. Under Nougat it slows the device down to a stuttering, jerky crawl. I'd love to use this APK on a modern OS, but can't, not practically. Rewrite for Nougat and you'll get your stars back. --- I took a chance on this app and bought it cold. This app is exactly what I was looking for. The ability to explicitly set the rotation mode per application is what is missing from every other rotation lock application out there. And the adaptive rotation mode is exactly what the doctor ordered. This app is so good, I dare say its functionality should be included in stock Android. I hope these folks are approached by Google. Well worth twice the asking price.
would be final if sensor portrait and sensor landscape were added to the list, and if user could remove unwanted items from list. in my case my list would look like: adaptive, sensor portrait, sensor landscape
Don't worry about the paid version not being worth the extra money, because it is worth it--it's only a couple of bucks, and it's worth donating just for the simple fact that this really is the best app of its kind, because I have used upwards of five to ten similar apps like this, and many had issues with the force-auto, or didn't even have that issue.
Great App... Had it for 3 years... But recently the Lock Screen on Portrait setting started turning itself on regularly... It's really annoying and defeats the object of the app. Please fix asap. LG Nexus 5X fully up to date.
I paid for the app for its "per app" functionality. To my disappointment, it does not show every applications I installed.
It no longer works on my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, maybe caused by the update from Android 7.0 to 7.1.1? The button comes up but no rotation, stays portrait. Paid version, dev please respond! Other apps do rotate but are not as handy.
When I updated from CM12.1 (Android 5.1) to CM14.1 (Android 7.1) it stopped working. I hope you have a chance to investigate. Functionality was perfect for me.
Worked great before. Now using it on a Google Pixel with 7.1.2 and touching the icon won't rotate the screen anymore. Please fix. The application-based settings work for the most part. Sometimes have to hit the multitask button and reselect the app for it to work.
Loved this app and been using it for years but now on a pixel XL - latest update, it doesn't work anymore :'( please fix I really want this app working again
Best one out there. Only thing wrong is that it doesn't function properly on Android 7.1
It worked fine on my prior phones (Moto X 2nd gen, and LG G3) but doesn't work at all on my Pixel XL. [sigh]
As this app is no longer working with Android 7.0 and the won't respond I've been searching for a suitable replacement. I finally found one that does almost the same as this, only it works on Android 7.0. Search for Dynamic Rotation Control by Bubblegum Apps.
What was once an indispensable app now is Inconsistent on marshmallow & Doesnt work on nougat at all. I think the time has come for people to start asking for a refund if there is no response from the developer!
Although the app hasn't been updated in years and the developer doesn't respond, it works flawless on my android 6.0.1 device. If rotated, it shows a quick toast notification and you click it if you want to rotate. If you don't click it, your screen stays locked and the notification disappears after a few seconds. I also like the option where you don't have a persistent pull-down shade logo and notification. The paid version is a must in my opinion because of the apps you may want to auto-rotate, such as the camera. You can put these on a list for the app to ignore.
This is really, really good! Finally brings rotation under control, with a little faint icon which appears when the physical orientation changes, which you can ignore if you don't want the screen to flip, or press if you do. It's a really good idea, done really well. The app doesn't really need all the other options, just switch it to adaptive rotation and leave it!
The most indispensable auto-rotate app out there but doesn't work with MIUI task manager? Plz include option to show hide in recent tasks list! Its so indispensable that i have to actually switch roms for this app's sake. Its that good & also that much more irritating when it doesn't work with a rom. Wish it shows as a process which I can lock as an exception from memory clearing apps/services. An option for auto.landscape & auto.portrait each would also be amazing. Taking 4 stars because of no resp
I cannot enable the app without sacrificing encryption…? Had I know this, I wouldn't have bought this app. Maybe this is a bug, but until there's a fix, 1 star.
...after rebooting. Nexus 7 2B16 here, and auto rotate is really needed, because its screen has a fairly-extreme aspect ratio. Too many rogue apps hijack a rotate mode and do it so thoroughly that it's almost impossible to restore auto-rotate after reboot. Will try to contact developer.
* Please provide an option to enable/disable showing in recent list for MIUI/AOSP correspondingly. * Please add auto-portrait & auto-landscape options too. * Camera apps are not showing in per app settings. Hate to rate 1 stars but dev doesnt respond at all these days.
Everybody!!! DO NOT turn off Notification icon, on Lollipop this program will be killed by system as soon as you start something bigger (game, program...). BTW, there is no such simple choise as "Landscape by sensor".
I had a problem with the rotation on my smartphone, so I bought this to help with that. Used the free version, but then got the paid one, but spoilers it's the same thing, but it takes money. Now I'm regret getting it cause' I wanted to use this in my home screen, but have to live with fact that home screen don't rotate. Had to factory rest my phone and it seems to work now. Won't be needing this app anymore.
No more irritating accidental touches on the wrong spot, because your screen just happen to turn some millisecond before. Adaptive rotation lock works like a charm; a neat overlay button appears in the centre of the screen, whenever rotation is detected. Wish I found this solution sooner after all those frustrating years :p Thanks!
Works depending on Android version... works great on Lollipop but not so well on Marshmallow or Nougat! On Android 7 it goes nuts swinging the screen around. Please update, hasnt been upgraded since July 2015, you already have our $$
Why not all apps appear in Per app setting selections? In fact most of the apps I configured before (stock auto, stock portrait etc) disappeared from the list when it asked me to enable accessibility again (probably mistakenly killed by system). From thereafter I do not see a complete list of app selection, even after clear data, cache and even a reinstall, won't work. Can you fix it and it will be 5-star app!
Would give 5 stars but when I go back to home screen after exiting an app I set an orientation for the home screen is stuck in the last apps orientation, I have to launch another app with no orientation set to get home screen to rotate again. Even if you set the home screen/launcher app to 'stock auto'. Fix and I give 5 stars.
The app list is very short, missing many apps. Please fix. Also, need the ability to lock home screens and lock screen to portrait. Please fix that too.
Would like to be able to specify a delay before the overlay rotate button is shown when using adaptive lock as it triggers too frequently. For example if you rotate and rotate back in quick succession, I would expect the button not to appear
This is fantastic for those annoying apps that force you to turn your device this way or that. Tbh I don't know why anyone would design their apps this way to begin with. So thanks for this! On the other hand, this app itself forces my lockscreen into reverse landscape mode (GT-P5200 running CM12) i.e. upside down.. Hence it rids me of one nuisance and introduces another :( You can force the lock screen to portrait mode but not landscape so that is not much better than upside down though..
I noticed this hasn't been updated since last July. This was working great on my phone until I updated to Marshmallow. I can got into it, but as soon as I leave the app it's no longer running. I go back in and it says as much...
Rotation lock breaks my camera, which doesn't show up in the per-app-settings list. Fixing this problem for my camera was the whole reason I purchased the upgrade; please fix the apps list to include my camera app.
Button takes too long to disappear. Needs additional setting to control the button length of time on screen.
When set to the 'adaptive lock' setting it works exactly as I like - screen only rotates if I tap the icon that appears for a few secs when I rotate the phone. Thank you!
The perfect solution to one of my pet peeves, the accidental screen rotation.
Can you take a look into it?
Works well. Gives me forced horizontal mode both on desktop and lock screen. Would be nice if the lock screen setting could be retained across a reboot.
This is the most valuable tool I've ever had on my tablet and phone!
Could we please get a mode where we can disable it for certain apps? Perhaps under the "setting per app" feature

Doesn't work anymore now that I upgraded to 7.1.1. on Nexus 6P with Nova Launcher. This app used to be able to force rotation on anything it want to, but now I have to watch vertically filmed YouTube videos in landscape when Fullscreen. Call Google, tell them your customers have paid for this ability and they're being screwed. Can't go horizontal on the homescreen anymore either. Plenty of other instances. Please fix for the love of God/humanity.
