About Network Tools
Basic idea of this app is periodic monitoring of websites, servers, routers, surveillance systems, etc. After a specified period of time the resource is checked, in case of failure user will get a warning. Such control will allow you to respond quickly to encountered problems.
Use system menu to add new resource to monitoring list, select the type and time interval between checks. At any time you can change the settings or manually check for a specific host. The corresponding commands are available on the context menu.
App contains additional tools: whois, ping and traceroute, for diagnosing network problems. For these commands there are implemented lists of previously entered addresses, so user does not need to retype them again.

Update :fixed the problem through my rom by adding a menu button action with a hardware button. It says use system menu to add hosts, but what if you have no hardware system menu button?

The Export to XML file always fails with a 0k file, so I can't import my hosts to Network Tools 2. It's not that much of a loss though, Network Tools 2 is overly complex and not very user friendly. It's more confusing than helpful. I'm Not entering all those IPs again, so it looks like I'm sticking with this version.

I was concerned by the permissions on this app, but I asked Vlad and he not only broke down the way, but also showed the code and explained it and informed me of his intent, if you'll excuse the word play, to change it to match newer process since Android 5.

Good App, delivers the goods. A couple of mini things,.. the time between pings is not consistent.. a 10 minute selection sometimes is 20 minutes .. a bug in the timer sub routine. The history report would be better if it reported the WAN numerical target address.
