衛生福利部豐原醫院

　　豐原醫院位於台中豐原區，基於「每一縣市設立一所省立醫院」的政策下，於72年4月30日成立，隸屬於台灣省政府衛生處，醫院初期規劃為100床。
　　初期規劃建院基本路線為「主動發掘民眾的需求，結合社區資源，提供綜合性、持續性、社區醫療保健服務」，以企業化系統管理之理念與原則經營管理推展 院務，以「結合地區資源，聯繫各醫療機構，建立地區醫療網，成為提供診療、預防、保健、研究教學，復健等之地區醫療中心」為建院總目標。
　　醫療服務之地區為豐原市、石岡鄉、東勢鎮、新社鄉、和平鄉、后里鄉、神岡鄉、潭子鄉、大雅鄉、 外埔鄉及苗栗縣之卓蘭鎮、三義鄉…等豐原次區域生活圈之十二鄉鎮，地區內人口為六十萬餘人。
　　因應政府精省政策，88年7月1日起由原隸屬於「台灣省政府衛生處」改隸屬於「行政院衛生署」，醫院名稱亦由「台灣省立豐原醫院」改為 「行政院衛生署豐原醫院」。
　　97年獲新制醫院評鑑特優及教學醫院評鑑合格。
　　102年7月23日，配合行政院組織改造成立「衛生福利部」，醫院名稱由「行政院衛生署豐原醫院」改為「衛生福利部豐原醫院」。
