Rakuten TV - Movies & TV Series for Android
Saw glossy ad on tv. Downloaded app. Seems expensive. £5.99 just to watch a film? Who pays that? If this is really wuaki with a different name then not interested anyway.
Can't use points through the app so had to use the website then come into the app to view. Once watching the movie I can't disable subtitles no matter what I try.
Hate not having the opportunity to watch a movie in its original language.
Early days yet but it's going to b a contender for Google Pla¥ Movies I think? Regards Jame$.
Cheaper than sky or Google play and just as good if not better,
Latest update has no Cast button to Chromecast.
It's expensive
Easy to use with good offers periodically too
Great app, great films, great service.????
Good catalogue and easy to navigate
It's fine
Excellent
Amazing
Would be better and higher rating if: rental period was similar to other rental companies who give 30 days to view. If what is offered is consistent such as offering a video to find it is only for purchase, no rental option, options need better labelling. Many video rental companies are around now with prices similar and Rakuten is falling behind.
Recent update fails to connect properly to Chromecast
It keeps restarting and losing it's place. It's driving me mad. Imagine you're 10 mins into your favorite show, bam, restart. Mess around restartings and adjusting back to place. Only to get another 5-10 mins. My enjoyment of said favorite show, the only reason I am using this app, is rather dimisinished by, frustration, then anger, the pure rage. This needs sorting.
I am really annoyed I have just purchased Guardians of the Galaxy 2 for £13.99 and the Dutch/Flemish subtitles won't switch off. I have been looking forward to watching this film for ages.
Keep getting failed to launch application when trying to cast it to my chromecast. Don't have any other issue with other apps and casting. Rented a movie and can't even watch it through my chromecast! So disappointed
When casting and then after a while I use my mobile, the movie jumps to a different place. I then have to mess about getting it back to the correct point in the film.
For some reason it is showing me Italian subtitles on an English film and when I try to change it in settings it simply reverts back to italian. Very annoying
I would not recommend this product. I would rather recommend Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Google Play Movies, blockbuster video, fetching the old dusty videos from the attic (recorded from tv) and buying a second hand video machine from eBay. But that's just how I feel.
The app itself is fine, it let's you rent or buy films. What I do not like is the fact that you can't download rented films, and you need to stream them. Rakuten, you need to add this feature in and then I will give you 5 stars, but without this it's merely a 3 star app.
Good competition for Google Play Movies, Amazon Instant Video and iTunes. Got HD Game of Thrones series 1-7 set for £40 less than I would have paid on the other platforms, and the streaming service to watch them has been great so far. Looking forward to many more hours of entertainment.
Can't download films that you have paid to own, so if you are in an area with no WiFi you are stuck with either using loads of data or not being able to watch the film at all.
Some of the content is a bit over priced and you can only watch if you have WiFi so can't download stuff to watch when you want
Not working in PS4. 3 days in a row with the following message: " Rakuten TV is under maintenance... Please check again in few minutes..."
On my phone (moto g4) it keeps starting my movies with Dutch subtitles turned on and won't let me turn them off and on my tablet (hudl2) it won't play at all!
Can't download your purchased movies to your phone to watch offline, no good when on holiday abroad or no WiFi .
There is plenty of choice but the rental period needs to be extended to come into line with other streaming outlets.
Rubbish you have to pay to watch films forget that
Subtitles won't turn off. Ruined film.
Not a lot of rental choices under 30 films..
Would be a higher rating if you could download your library on a Samsung s8.
A very good app. With up to date films at a reasonable price
Great for me! A very good catalogue of films and some good deals.
Easy to use and less expensive than other similar services
Just great TV
Good quality
Useless. Got app on tablet and phone, it played the film ok but crashed immediately when trying to cast to TV. What's the point?

Rakuten (Wuaki) did have lots of positives. A large catalogue, plenty of playback options, a relatively limited but improving range of UV titles, Chromecast, support staff who engaged with you, and they seemed keen on developing. It was the UV support that was absolutely key though. If a title doesn't come with the UV safety net then the chances are Google get my business unless there are ridiculously good deals to be had, so it was already Wuaki's weakness. So I was a bit surprised to discover UV support had been withdrawn a month or two after it happened and without so much as a courtesy email. So that leaves me with a handful of titles I am unlikely to be adding to too often.
