Peel Smart Remote

Wish I could give this new versuon a negative star rating, it would be -10. This is now one of the worst apps. Latest version now is always running, using battery power and my data keeping the guide updated. Also, it is now assessable when phone is locked, why? If I want to use this app, I will open it. Uninstalling this junk!

Multiple reviews say the same thing. This app is unusable due to the amount of ads. Nearly every button press creates a full screen ad. On top of that, it now features a floating shortcut that you can't get rid of. Settings only allow for you to "mute" any notifications for 30 days, which only means it dissappears from your screen like it forgets your preferences. This is nothing short of desperation to force users into using it. My apologies to the users who do not know how to remove this battery draining, space wasting, and all around annoying app from their devices.

Bloatware that spams me with notifications, and I can't turn it off. Sadly, I can't even uninstall it unless I jailbreak my phone. It's a decent remote control app, except that they went to a revenue model that has way too many ads, many full screen, and notifications that I don't want. Trust me and trust the many others who say this. Avoid at all costs, and complain to Samsung for including this in their "built in" apps! If the app would just shut up and stay that way, I'd give it a higher rating.

Creates pop-ups about upcoming sporting events and TV shows at random times. I hate sports, but there's no way to indicate that in settings, and the shows it advertises are ones I've never heard of, let alone watched. Needs an opt-out option! Now there are ads on every single screen, as well as pop-ups that interrupt what you are trying to do. This app is going downhill fast. You also can't opt out of notifications permanently. And stop adding fake reviews!!!

I truly like the app but I do wish I was able to change inputs using the app as well. Find it rather inconvenient to have to find the factory remote in order to change inputs on both my TV , and surround sound. Outside of that minor fact, the app works great.

I love the ability to use my phone as a remote. The interface is painful, but tolerable. A few days ago, I would have given it three stars. Then I started having this odd overlay appear whenever I plugged my phone in to charge, like a lock screen. By the time I finally worked out what app it was (by removing Peel's permission to draw over other apps, having first tried uninstalling a number of recently updated apps) I was furious. There is no indication on this lock screen as to what app is creating it. If that's not suspect, I don't know what is!

Flagging as inappropriate. Making changes to my phone settings/cover lock screen with no options for removal. Popups are obtrusive and can only be temporarily disabled within the app (disabled within Android OS). Seems like the app needs to apply updates daily. Release notes not useful.

Inundated with ads, notifications can't be permanently disabled, and on Samsung it can't even be uninstalled. There are other apps significantly less intrusive, so this one just made the disabled list.

This app keeps adding more and more ads, and now has put a widget on the lock screen that there is no way to turn off. Every update has made it more cumbersome and less easy to use.

rude, obtrusive, when i disable annoying overlays they are turned back on after update. fku peel, try harder

3 questions > 1.) WHY CAN'T I GET NOTIFICATIONS OF MY SELECTED SHOWS/MOVIES??? 2.) Why can't we get info about show/movie that's on the tv guide.....!!! 3.) Why aren't the updates explained so we can see the changes and /or improvements?

Ad-spamming forced bloatware. Whoever made this decision should be very concerned of dark alleys or staircase accidents...

Hey, it doesn't work with Samsung widget (My Places) anymore. I used it a lot.

Why is this app now constantly running even on my lock screen? Im uninstalling it now

All is well but when I installed this app in my another phone then how to restore room backup which is already stored in your app setting/ account setting on my first phone.

Cant connect to satellite tv box. Now, after latest updates, cant even show timing guides for shows in my country. Thank for messing up the app again. And the bloody splash screen video advertisement is a killer. Phone nit rooted, cant uninstall this crap, if not i will surely uninstall it! Edit. Latest update sucks. Dont force your stupid widget. Dont need those useless thing.

Loved the app until a recent update forced notifications. Now the only option is to snooze them for up to 30 days. As a forced install on my Galaxy S5, I can't uninstall it. Bloatware is annoying, but accepted as you can usually ignore it if you don't want to use it. This is no longer the case. I doubt Samsung agreed to this change.

Quit trying to take over my phone. If I wanted a new lock screen, I'd make it happen on my own. Super irritating new lockscreen that automatically turns on with no clear way to disable it. I don't want to have to disable notifications every 30 days either. Let me mute permanently. This app is way too overbearing and invasive.

It controls individual devices just fine, but it doesn't seem to be able to change the TV input based on what I want it to do (HDMI 1 for DVD player, HDMI 2 for laptop). There needs to be an "open-ended" option for TV inputs (i.e. not tied down to a specific device) like my old physical universal remote has.
