Turn Off Screen

I must use this more then any other app on. Since getting a nice flip case on my s3 I could not get to the off button easily. This app fixed that. The icons look good also. Makes me wonder why Samsung doesn't have a built in wigit Thanks for this useful shortcut.

Works as advertised. The developer responded to a technical question (and solved my problem) in less than a day. Now I no longer need to worry that some app will be opened inadvertently and stay open as I tuck my galaxy back into its pouch.

@CC Deville, you're not very bright are you? Its a screen off app, not a screen on app. How would you suggest the app turn the screen on from the off state? Root your device and install a kernel that supports sweep to sleep/wake. I hate when people 1 star an app that does exactly what its supposed to do. SMFH

Doesn't lock in one click. Lack of customization

Overrides the nexus imprint unlock feature and falls back to PIN. Please fix.

I have a nice case over my cel to protect it from my butterfingers nephew, but it makes the side power button less than useable. This app takes care of that with a screen icon.

The app works as described - it turns the screen off with the search button, a button that would be useless otherwise.

would it be possible to make the widget smaller takes up too much area on home screen space of four icons but works great on my note 3

Make sure to use the right widget or else it becomes a 2 step process 2 turn the screen off

Works, but the Test screen comes up EVERY TIME.. Annoying...

This is the one n only works for me since i used 4.0.4 stock rom.superb! But if this app has cooler icon,it could be great devs.6 star!!

I was using it on my old ice cream sandwich phone, so actually was not expected whether it will work for Kitkat.But now I am pleased to see it working

Very easy to install and simple to use. I installed this app after the power button on my Galaxy S3 stopped working. I can now turn off my phone with this app and turn on the phone with my home button. The only reason it is not 5 stars is the test screen appears each time the off button is pressed which necessitates 2 steps in order to turn off power.

After locking the device it can't be unlocked with fingerprint scanner.

Place the Uninstall bar lower on the page to provide more distance between it and the turnoff test bar. I have placed the turn off Icon in the middle of my homepage so that when I double tap it turns off quickly. If I tap the icon a little bit too low it activates the uninstall. By lowering the uninstall bar it would eliminate this and allow me to double tap for a quick turn off while still eliminating an accidental turn off Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Great in combination with Nova Launcher Prime's double tap gesture, to give it such an HTC phone effect.

It just does what it says and didn't require extra permissions.

It works, it is tiny, and it saves your day if your power button is busted.

Since upgrading my devices to JB, I have problem with other screen off app. Now, I find one that works well.

Works well, reliable,small,non intrusive, but needs in my case two steps because I always get the test screen. Please fix.

It's very nice and I like the widgets but sometimes my screen will shut off twice after I touch the button. A little annoying. Droid RAZR maxx HD

20140116 Nexus 5 4.4.2 Root. Shuts off screen consistently. Not sure why a widget is required for one press screen off; I rather have a shortcut because it takes less resources (very minor complaint). Thank you for creating this free app with no permission requirements!

I search for one app which turn off the screen, not interrupt the phone's activity. This app lock the screen and switch phone in stand by mode.

Excellent. Does what it is supposed to do without fail. Just for those that don't like the style of the widget like me then you can go for the shortcut which looks like the app and has the text below.

My first install after every reset

I have Hidden Lock Pro. This app allows me to press the icon to turn off my display and activate Hidden Lock. I no longer have to press my Power Off button/switch. Tip: the widget icon takes up two spots on the display. So I created a shortcut and said to activate the power off app. Works perfect. Locking my phone takes one click and about two seconds, from thinking about it to locking it.

Seems to work great (after my 5 minutes of testing). My Sony z3 compact has double tap to turn on the screen, but not to turn it off. Using this now I can turn my phone on and off all from the screen.

No sliding just tap
