Remote Media Center HD for Android
UPDATE: Latest version et orks now. All good. Great app. Have used this app for some time and liked it but this lastest version does not let me browse the guide. You can see recorded tv and scheduled recordings but the guide gives an error.
does not display channel list after android 7 upgrade. EPG works it's the Browse channel list that doesn't display
Latest version just crashes on startup, making the app unusable.
Every feature has a cost. Charges for features that have been free for over a decade. Misleading practices = shady company
The App connects to my Chromecast successfully, but has yet to be able to stream anything to it. Contacted Dev days ago requesting advice, to no avail. Suspect this is DOA
App is hit and miss as to whether it will stream anything at all. The ads work 100% of the time. After the ad, the streaming works about 10%. Non-stop prompts asking if I want to submit the bug report. This has been going on for over a year. Running latest Android on clean Nexus 6.
This is a superb application and I have been a supporter of RMC for some time now - however, having previously paid for this application, I am disappointed that it is now littered with ads and the only way I can change this is to pay again (albeit I could stream live tv to it - but I have installed this on my server as my htpc's would struggle with transcoding as well as their day jobs - furthermore I have a Broadway t2 network tuner which provides me with this functionality). Other than the ads - superb!
Great when I travel and can watch TV from home. Some times freezes when insufficient bandwidth, but otherwise works ok.
Great app, however app continues to run in the background (using CPU) even after closing program via back button. Need to kill process and service in application manager otherwise it drains battery. Wish you could provide a proper exit function which would kill all services and processes.
All I keep getting is a message saying sorry remote media centre has stopped working
Great app for scheduling recordings
To difficult to use or open for that matter.
This works great!

I think this may be the 3rd review I've ever written on an app I've downloaded in the 7+ years I've owned a smart phone, and this probably the 1st positive one. This app is amazing. I can't believe the capability and flexibility I now have to view WMC content. My #1 concern was whether or not is would work well with Chromecast and play the .wtv files I've recorded throguh my HDHomerun Prime tuner. It works wonderfully! Keep up the great work! A couple of suggestions: 1 - When casting video to chromecast, it would be great if there was a simple 30 second skip button, that way you can skip commercials on recorded TV if you want to. 2 - Also when casting video to chromecast, it would be great if there was a way to pause what I'm watching, disconnect it from the one chromecast, then connect to a different chromecast in another room, and resume what I was watching where I left off.
I have used Windows Media Center for years and Remote Potato. I love the control and flexibilty this app affords me to set recordings from my tablet/phone and stream to them. Great app!
Awesome!
Wish there was a Windows version as well so I can stream live TV to other PC's as well
Does not work unless waiting a minute every few seconds means it's working. Tried it on Nexus5/Lollipop with latest RP release.
Finally something that makes infinitv tv worth it
Thought you could try live TV to see if you wanted to purchase it. Nope. ServerWMC and media browser is a better alternative, same functionality but thru any browser, including stock Android browser and works flawlessly. No need for an additional app. It's completely free and does live TV.
RMC is awesome when it works. Some movies play while others dont or replay from the start after 20 secs. I'm running the latest Remote Potato too. Please fix.
Could not get it work
Use MXPlayer with hardware acceleration turned on for Google Nexus 7 to solve video issues.
Its cool to play 1080p.
Faith
This was working well however about two updates ago it started to crash every time I try to schedule a recording. When I search the program guide for a show amd I select schedule recording or schedule series RMC crashes and the screen goes blank and it restarts.
Happy with it but still a bit buggy
A very good app. Remote not that good some bits of it not working as expected but will persevere. It seems that when selecting to record a series it is defaulting to keep only one programme and not the default set in media centre can this be fixed Series recording only setting to keep one programme and not the default value (keep as many as possible) that is set on my media centre. Can this be fixed.
App works great for streaming all my music to my phone, watching videos/recorded tv and setting up new recordings. A recent issue where i couldn't stream music over WAN was fixed in hours after I contacted the developer. Thank you!
Not the most beautiful user interface ever, but it does exactly what I want it to: streams my videos from my home PC to my mobile device (HTC One, 4.3). Perfect for my daily commute.
Finally, it supports rm and rmvb format. Great job !!!
Works well supports every format I use. Plays from recorded stuff off my ceton tuner card. Only thing that is not refined enough for me, is when scrolling up through folders or what not it skips at the stop of each folder name.
This looks like exactly what I want. But, alas, Remote Potato refuses to run on my Win7 MC. Don't know why, it just stops before it even opens. RP site doesn't help any, either. Too bad for me. I really wanted to be able to use it. I have an HTC Thunderbolt and an Asus tablet, but it doesn't matter, because I haven't even gotten far enough to download this app.
Installed chromecast in app purchase now on TV it just blinks a few times with the name and the app says loading. I goto any other app like plex and it's perfect. What's up?
Looks like design from 80s and impossible to use. Can't scroll unless you are in home network.
Wanted it to watch recorded TV using Chromecast. Will play okay, but if you fast worward more than once it crashes. Also, even at highest quality, pixilation is introduced
Does not work on windows 8.1
Grown to really rely on this app

Worked only during the first few minutes then crashed and won't run even after reboot. This happened for me on a version a year ago too... After changing the menu UI selection. Looks like this is a major bug that has been around a long time When it worked I was pretty happy with the functionality except for UI graphics need updating to get out of the 90s, especially the EPG. And there needs to be an option to remove unused menu items. I only want tv related items to show.
