Cinemacity geolocates film clips throughout Paris in the very locations where they were shot.
Experience cinema differently, explore the city in a new and exciting way.
The Cinemacity app functions as a travel companion during your cinewalks.
With Cinemacity you will be able to:
• Discover and view hundreds of film clips geolocated throughout Paris.
• Let yourself be guided by the app by choosing one of many available walks centered around monuments, actors, or filmmakers.
• Immerse yourself in the Belleville neighborhood thanks to “Tag,” a fiction-walk split into five 3-minute episodes, directed by Ilan Cohen and specially produced for Cinemacity. “Tag” will take you around a magical and mysterious Belleville. Other fiction-walks will be made available in the coming months.
• Synchronize your cinewalks in order to use the app on the street in offline mode. No more network access problems, all of the content (text, photos, and videos) will be downloaded to your iPhone/iPad/iPadMini so that you can enjoy your walk under optimal conditions.
Please note, you must be less than 300 meters from a geolocated clip in order to view it.
The app is available in French, English, and German.
Cinemacity is produced by Arte and Small Bang studio, with the support of the CNC, and in partnership with Paris City Hall and the Forum des Images.

L'idée du projet est Cinemacity est séduisante et permet de tirer pleinement parti de votre smartphone en parcourant Paris à la recherche de lieux de tournages célèbres. L'appli est géniale, je lui pressens un franc succès lorsque le catalogue de balades s'étoffera. Parole de repéreur de décors pour le cinéma! Cette application est un simple portage d'iOS, les boutons menu et retour Android ne sont pas fonctionnels, ce qui est vite pénible en ce qui concerne le bouton retour qui arrête l'appli... une étoile en moins pour cette erreur dans l'interface qui pour le reste est très intuitive.

While both idea and visual part is very good and worth 5 stars, the overall experience is very bad. Every button and every bit of interface violates Android guidelines. Hardware back button closes app no matter which screen you see which is totally confusing for any Android user. And at the same time this app doesn't quit, so GPS keeps draining your battery. It drains when you are at the home screen, drains when you at the lock screen. Well, it keeps running in background until you kill it. Also, from time to time app goes mad and start to turn GPS on and off 2-3 times per second for unknown reason. Tabs panel is at the bottom and each tab has own icon (hi, iOS!). All tabs (but map) are bundled with own "back" button at the top left corner. iOS again. All in all it is very typical phoneGap application (website bundled as app) developed for iPhone then built for Android without any changes. I wouldn't recommend using this app to tourists visiting city until developers fix GPS . Otherwise you risk to have dead battery in your phone in the beginning of your journey.
