Turning Point sostiene progetti atti a favorire lo sviluppo delle popolazioni dei Paesi del Sud del Mondo. Turning Point significa “Punto di svolta”: per noi, per voi e per gli “altri”. Nasce nel 2012, dopo che varie vite si sono incrociate, destini tragici si sono trasformati in abbracci, amicizie, sentimenti e fotografie tristi in sguardi di intesa.

Il terremoto di Haiti, devastante e tragico, è stata l’occasione per impegnarci e metterci in gioco. Tutto è iniziato dalla violenta presa di coscienza che i volti sparuti e gli sguardi cupi, che rimbalzavano nelle nostre case da chilometri di distanza, non erano virtuali ma appartenevano e appartengono a persone esattamente come noi. Poi c’è stata la concreta condivisione: ore di duro lavoro e speranza, in un contesto di fame, povertà e disperazione. Infine la consapevolezza dell’esistenza di uno, cento, mille luoghi come Haiti, geograficamente lontani ma uguali nella miseria che attanaglia i loro popoli.

Turning Point è frutto della nostra “svolta” personale, che avrà un senso solo se potremo estenderla a tutti voi e condividerla con donne, uomini, bimbi e adolescenti, che hanno nostri pari diritti e dignità, offrendo loro la concreta possibilità di vivere e non solo sopravvivere. Turning Point supports projects that encourage the development of the populations of the countries of the South. Turning Point means "turning point": for us, for you and for the "other". Born in 2012, after several lives crossed, tragic fates have turned into hugs, friendships, feelings and pictures sad in knowing glances.

The earthquake in Haiti, devastating and tragic, was an opportunity to engage and get involved. It all started from the violent realization that the faces and haggard looks gloomy, bouncing into our homes from kilometers away, were not virtual but belonged and belong to people just like us. Then there was the practical sharing: hours of hard work and hope, in the context of hunger, poverty and despair. Finally, awareness of the existence of one, a hundred, a thousand places like Haiti, geographically distant but equal in misery that grips their peoples.

Turning Point is the result of our "breakthrough" staff, that will make sense only if we can extend it to all of you and share it with women, men, children and teenagers, who have our equal rights and dignity, giving them the real possibility of living and not just survive.
