Kanef Flashcards

This application was developed for Ms. Kanef's 1st Grade class in Lincoln Elementary School in Winchester. It contains her 100 recommended sight words for 1st grade, the names of the pupils, and a few other Winchester words.

This application is designed to be used jointly by the parent and child. A word is shown, and the child reads it to the parent. If correct, you can press right, if incorrect, press wrong. The application remembers (and displays) how many times the child has got the word right and wrong. The more often they've gotten it right, the less frequently it appears. The more often they've gotten it wrong, the more frequently it appears. So the application adapts itself to your child's learning needs.

The total number of correct and incorrect readings is also given. A parent can use these to track session and overall process. For example you might choose to do 100 words a night.
Additionally there are menus that let you add words, remove words, and get a ranked report on how good your child is with all the words.
It's not fancy. It's not flashy. But it's free and there is no advertising or in-app purchases. The less distractions, the more your kid can concentrate and learn.
