WK for WaniKani

It's fast and light, both on the data usage and space occupied. A problem I have is that the notifications aren't showing up.

This app is moving along so painfully slooooow. It makes you wait for days (literally!) and there is no way to speed this up. This is frustrating, because it doesn't let you learn in your own rythm.

Useful way to access the website. I've run into no issues and love the notifications... Otherwise I'd forget haha. Thanks!

I love this app a lot, but ever since an update the app has been crashing upon launch. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. Please fix this! Uninstalling and reinstalling hasn't helped.

I love this app so much, I just wish it had the option to set a vibration notification for reviews, since I forget to check my phone sometimes, clumping reviews together.

The app stayed force closing on me today, and I uninstalled and reinstalled, and didn't fix the problem. Figured this is how I could let them know since it doesn't give me the option to report it

Worth every penny/cent. Nice UI and a great place to start learning kanji once you've learnt your hiragana.

Great app for being able to do mobile reviews and lessons in your WaniKani account.

I opened the app today to see if I had reviews, but not having any for 8 hours, I closed the app and did not use it further. At the end of the day it had used 32% of my battery. Its an excellent app, but given this major issue, I cannot use it until this is fixed. Edit: this issue seems to have since been fixed. Comfortable giving it 5 stars now, thanks for the fix! I love this app so much! Great for beginners who already have a grasp of kana characters. My only complaint is that the notification reminders have been glitching lately. They're meant to remind me of reviews but instead they're taking me to new lessons. Also the review counter is sometimes set to 0 even when I do have reviews to do.

This is by far the most useful app that I have ever used. Learning kanji seems too impossible like how am I suppose to memorize all those strokes and stuffs, WaniKani simplifies it all! Never thought mnemonics would be such a great use woah! I am studying for like 2 weeks straight and I must say that this app is really cool!!! Like the SRS is really awesome! Hats off to the developers of this app!!!

App itself is fine, works well. Unfortunately, I changed my accounts API key by accident, which seems to have broken the app with no way of fixing it. I tried clearing the data from it and uninstalling and reinstalling, but in both cases it hits an "unknown error" when I try to resign in, and I can't get passed the API input screen. EDIT:this has fixed itself so w/e. Still a frustrating glitch tho.

The app looks nice, works well and functions smoothly. My favourite feature is the notifications. All in all a great app. Thanks for making and continuously supporting it! Edit: I encountered a bug with vacation mode in which the app thought I was still in vacation mode after I had disabled it. I had to reinstall to get things back to normal.

When being tested on the kanji reading of Enter, ni-yuu is the correct typing pattern and matches the description but it does not pass you to the next level stating it's wrong, even though it's right@ would be happy if fixed 5 star 4 sure

The app is clean and all but I want a tab where I can view statistics like: average level-up time, a pie chart with locked/unlocked radicals/kanji/vocab to visualize it, maybe JLPT progression i.e. how many kanji of each level I've unlocked/burned. There is a lot of stats that could be added and I think you guys could make it look really great.

It starts off sooo slow if you already have an established base. They should offer a level placement test at least. It's been days and I'm still waiting to reach actual kanji and vocab. (And no, the radicals weren't hard- so that's not the reason)

The app is pretty useful. I already have a decent understanding of Japanese, and not being able to skip past words I 100% know is annoying. Also, when trying to use my Japanese keyboard to insert characters, the button to add a 点々 doesnt work for most letters.

I have found this app amazingly helpful. The science behind it really does help me a lot as my memory is terrible. The wait times are because this app uses spaces repetition, a learning technique with increased intervals of time before review, basically as your mind is about to forget something, you review it. As for bugs I have had none, just a very clear and easy to use UI. The mnemonics are really helpful and you add notes to each if you wish. I highly recommend this app for anybody struggling to remember kanji.

I love this app, it has a lot of nice features and works pretty well. I would like to have more options on the notifications though: I'd like to have notifications only for reviews and not lessons, and also have a sound and vibrate for reviews notifications. Thanks!

I use this app everyday. Just one suggestion though. I use this with my tablet and bluetooth keyboard. It would be nice if you add a key shortcut to open information if there are other possible meanings or if my answer is a bit off. I'm tired if I have to raise my hand to screen to do it. :D

A real review: This app is actually amazing. Well worth the money. I've read through a lot of comments and most are complaining about bugs and wait time. The bugs are definitely understandable, though I have yet to encounter any. About the wait time.. some people aren't understanding that the wait time isn't there to slow your learning process, it is literally implemented for the exact opposite reason. You can speed through learning the radicals, kanji, and vocab if you want. However, when you start forgetting those components that you sped through and have to go back and relearn, you'll waste so much more time in the long run. If you read the FAQ which is suggested during your first period of waiting, you'd understand how this app actually works. This is the best thing I have come into contact with. My grammar is fine. My vocabulary is also pretty big.. I have always had an issue with retaining kanji however, so this is perfect. I am finding that I remember everything through this system. Do not be dissuaded by negative reviews, this app can save you thousands of headaches long-term. Please try it. I am recommending it to every Japanese learner I know.

This is a great app! Please implement a review feature that will let us review burned items (selectable by lesson type and level/range of levels criteria then randomized). ????

Can't use it. After putting in my API it crashes. Continues to crash now seconds after opening. It used to work on my phone before though

I this the app is okay, and the site. I could never hear the sound files on PC or with the app. I rate it low because I thought that you could customize the program to the learners abilities. I'm the type to learn the kana first, pronounciation, then learning from listening to words, and speaking first; them learning the radicals and kanji after. For those who want to learn radicals and kanji first, this is the app for you. If you know the kana (hiragana/katakana) and want to learn speech and grammar first, than this app is not for you. It's sad because I think this app is really good, just very strictly ordered to one way which does not suit everyone's needs.

I have had this app for 9 days now and I still haven't progressed to any actual kanji I know all of the radicals and get 100% every time and still no new kanji. It's become infuriating.

Just used nearly 500MB of data while account in holiday mode and I away for one week. Stupid move. Without this the app is ok.

This app managed to use 681mb of mobile data in less than a month - with my account in holiday mode. I'm sure the creators of this app have good intentions, it is however, a very poorly written app.

Love it, can you please make the font size bigger. nemonics are hard to read even on my 5.7" phone. Thank you.

really love the app, however the glitches can mess me in the on'yomi. I will type something correct but it will say it's wrong.

Awesome app for wanikani! Not only does it have a sleek design, it also has multiple "plugins" that make it a better experience.

Great app, however when i look at stats for a specific item it doesnt show stats for reading correct vs incorrect they just stay at 0. It shows meaning stats perfectly though.

Great app, but since putting my WaniKani account on Vacation Mode, it's been killing my battery and using data constantly. Going to try restricting background network access and see where that gets me, but I'm not super stoked about being over my data limit...
