Didn't pick up conversations any further than 2 inches from my Note Edge. Doesn't recognize accents at all. Being nearly deaf, I thought this would be helpful.

Not working!!!!

C70%

As a Deaf, I need to be able to read their words. Instead, I am asked to type the words so it is played back to me. Extremely pointless. Especially when it crashes each time the mic is used.

People don't know to tap the mic when they are done talking to you.

I got a GS5 and it doesn't have America female voice so it's way off. I'm deaf and am looking for something that will type down when someone talk. It wasn't working this way at all for some reason so for now you get one star. Until then if it has America female voice and type everything people saying then I'll come back and give you 5 stars!

So far this is the best app I have found for talking through android phone with my wife, who suddenly became deaf four weeks ago. Apart from an inability to understand the word 'pitcher' as a container for water and not an image, I've been able to use it pretty well...

I am deaf. I tried 15-20 apps on the market for text-to-speech or for apps just for deaf people and this was the clear winner. Most other apps were 1-2 stars. A couple were 3 stars and this one is a clear 5. I have some recommendations but these are feature requests and not something I consider broken. Before I make the feature requests, the parts I like about it are that everything said is very ephemera, temporary and easy to wipe and start over. I also like that it's always listening. I can just set it on the table and let people talk away and I don't have to keep restarting the mic. Another feature I like is that the mic is out of the way, not blocking the screen and hardly noticeable. The requests I have are, I seldom need to take the tour so remove this from the menu and, instead of the menu how about just two buttons at the top; clear and settings. You can put the tour option in settings but keep the interface as clean and simple as you can, only showing the least that someone needs. Maybe just put a clear button at the top and the phones menu button to pop up a menu. Just some ideas. Thanks for the great app :-)

I've been looking around for something that could just sit at the table during a game of cribbage (for example) and give my mother a reference if she missed what was said. This might help. Needs bigger text for older eyes.
