How it works:
Every day Lexic will present the student with a list of Hànzì/words to review.
Each Hànzì/word you learn has a learning cycle which is controlled by Lexic.
When a Hànzì/word is presented, the student clicks either the "remember" button or the "forgot" button.
Click the "Translate" button to see a translation.
Hear an audio of the pronunciation by clicking the "Dictionary" button.
The Hànzì/words learning process:
All of the Hànzì/words being learned are divided into classes.
Each class includes words with a specific level of remembrance.
The bottom class consists of new Hànzì/words that the student does not know.
The top class consists of Hànzì/words that the student knows well.
Between the bottom class and the top class, there are intermediate classes.
Each Hànzì/word gradually moves up from the bottom class through the middle classes to the top class.
Hànzì/Words in the bottom class are reviewed every day. Hànzì/Words in the top class are reviewed once a month. In the intermediate classes, the Hànzì/words are reviewed once in periods that are growing from once in three days, up to once a month.
For a word to move from a class to a higher one, the student must remember the Hànzì/word in three consecutive reviews.
When a Hànzì/word "graduates" the highest class, it is considered known and the student will not see it in Lexic anymore.
New Hànzì/words are entered into Lexic in two ways.
* You enter Hànzì/words manually whenever you encounter a new one.
* If you don't enter new Hànzì/words manually, Lexic will introduce new words automatically.
The new automatically introduced Hànzì/words will be Hànzì/words from a list which the student sets up according to his level of Chinese proficiency. Chinese Lexic has a lexicon of close to 12300 Chinese Hànzì/words and expressions arranged in 7 levels, Beginner, and the 6 HSK levels.
