About TVnote
TVnote is a simple app that helps you keep track of your favorite TV shows. Just add shows to your list and then use the info button to check for new episode releases, and the link button to download the show. Each show also has an episode counter, so you know what episode you're up to, and an alert date, that will send you a notification when a new episode is released.
A typical use case starts with TVnote alerting you that a new episode has been released. You open the app and click on the link button for the show. This takes you to a webpage where you can download the new episode (such as a torrent site or a streaming service). You start the download and head back to TVnote. You click on the info button to check when the next episode is coming out and it takes you to a TV database (such as a Wikipedia episode list or IMDB). You find the next episode and set the release date as the new alert for the show, then update the episode counter.
The URLs that the info and link buttons use are semi-automated. You can set a default URL for both of them in settings. If you place a tilde (~) in the URL, it will be replaced with the name of the show. For example setting the default info URL to "en.wikipedia.org/wiki/list_of_~_episodes" will almost always take you to the shows's Wikipedia episode list.
The episode counter and alert date are not automated, because this app was designed with simplicity and minimal footprint in mind. Automating these may save you a few seconds, but it would drastically increase the complexity of the app.
