The monotonous voice is pretty boring. I like the premise of this app, but I wish it were more engaging, it lacks some motivational aspects for kids. Basically, this would definitely help kids read, but if you have an easily distracted child, this isnt a great choice

Needs more books added, and teen age books added, and fiction books added. When that happens I'll give 5 stars because this is a great app and the only one I've seen like this on google play.

Starts you out with a few book then if you like it you can buy bundles of books for a few $. Tap on any word to have it read it out loud. My 4 year old loves to go through the books and repeats them all the way through. It's helped greatly in her interest in reading. The security needs some beefing up. Any elementary kid can get into the buying screen. Also it would be nice if you could sync it to a google account or something.

I love the idea but enabling the listen button each time is annoying for my son. Cant it just be at top right all the time? Sometimes the first word doesnt work until u press another word first. 1 letter words hard to activate. Maybe highlight each word when sentence is read?

U70%
by U####:

my daughter love the books and she's doing really well in reading since she started using this apps. My only concern is there is no way to add the books to cart you have to buy one book at a time which is really annoying.

Love the books, my 5yo son as well. It could be an awesome app if it could highlight each word as it reads along when you press the listen button

This is a handy, pleasant app overall. Things to note: - Booksy 50 (the book pack) is NOT the same as this app and they do NOT sync together. They are two separate apps. - If you purchase books in the free Booksy app, you must be careful when deleting or redownloading the app. Getting your paid books back can sometimes be a pain. - TipiTap was not responsive at their website, Facebook, through their email, or here when I had an issue. If you want to contact them, Twitter was the best/fastest resource. Whoever was handling their Twitter account was on the ball.

This is a great app. I can't seem to find where the recorded voice file is. Teachers must love this as it gives students an opportunity to practice with assistance. If a few of the kinks were ironed out I would definitely give it a 5. It should be a little bit more intuitive as far as signing up a new user and locating the stats. I would definitely purchase books for this app. Any in French... Teachers in my jurisdiction are hungry!

My son is happy with the app. But It seems that I can not retrieve my purchases since I have already change my Tablet. Please help my kid wants those books back. 10 Book Pack (Booksy: learn to read platform) US$4.99 January 30, 2013 Complete Android Apps

A best app for beginners of reading

X70%
by X####:

This is a great app for my first grade students. They are able to read independently and can get support by tapping the words when needed. There is a good selection of both fiction and non-fiction books. There are 2 changes I would like to see to improve this app greatly: First, it would be great if the kids could listen to their own recording. My students love to record their voices but they are not able to hear themselves played back because that is an admin-only setting. It would be nice to have a play-back option for students to listen to themselves. This would really motivate my kids to practice reading aloud. Also, I would like to see an option to have the words highlighted during the 'read-aloud' mode so that students can follow along with the voice that is reading. Otherwise, this is a great app for the classroom!

Glad we got this app through the Famigo app, my son really likes it!!!

My Kindergartner loves this app. I want to get the other app with 50 books but wonder if the books are the same in both apps?

X70%
by X####:

This is by far the best learn to read app I have ever seen. So many books to pick from and a fabulous platform!

X70%

Have not been able to go through a book yet, without different recordings going off in the background.

I like the ui and all the features, and my daughter loves the books. But I paid for the 50 book pack and it won't sync with the program-they don't show up in my library. The pack seems to run on it's own instead of WITH this, but it won't let me register ANY users thru that ui, so all of the functionality is gone-recording, rewards, progress tracking, quizzes....frustrating. Needs fixed or I need a refund of my $15. Consensus seems to be good for free version, bad if you pay. Is that good business?

J70%
by J####:

I have just purchased the 10 books for 4.99 deal for my 5 years old. I was disappointed that I was not allowed to pick the 10 books of my choice. I was given 10 random books and most of them are beyond her reading level. So it is not really a good deal at all. I just want the buyers to be aware.

X70%
by X####:

This app has helped my son who also has a learning disability with reading. This is one of the best app for teaching kids how to read; better than Scholastic's Storia. Add more books and add other grade levels. Don't tease us. Give us more!

I70%
by I####:

My son has a learning disability and he really enjoyed the books. I wish there were more reading level selections.

M70%
by M####:

My child was not interested in reading, this app really helped bring him on, he loves seeing the certificates although you have to complete the quiz every time otherwise you lose the certificate. Other certificates are not showing but these issues are minor the main aim is to get him reading and it has worked. Thank you.

I give it four stars. Only that it needs more free books. Otherwise it is a wonder full app.
